have a merry Little christmas

Three more days and it's Christmas. Im so excited can't wait for "D day." The only thing is, I'm not really feeling well today. Maybe it's the continuous practice for our dance number later tonight at our Christmas party. Every dept. are asked to perform, we been practicing since last week. Now Im suffering from muscle pains and some colds. Oh boy, I don’t want this muscle pain and colds interfere my Christmas Holiday. I’ve been waiting for this whole year round. I’ve taken some paracetamol and Ibuprofen to at least lessen this negative thing that I feel.

Anyway, let me leave you guys this favorite Christmas song of mine and I'm wishing all my blogger friends a Merry Christmas and A happy New Year. Wishing you more blessings in Life.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yuletide gay
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

Samu't Sari

Last Saturday I attended the N@W Christmas party. I've been in this egroup for almost 2 years and it's my first time to attend the Naw Christmas Party. It was really a different experience. It was fun. I met the real people behind the names that I seen in each post that I read in our egroup. I never expected that I’d enjoy such party. There were parlor games for that kids, nanny and of course for the members. Dj came along with me so we join the parlor games as a couple. We didn’t win any game that we participated but we had yummy brownies from Alex Franco as a consolation prize. Aside from the games, I enjoy the exchange gift part. I received an acid free photo album from Leira (a nawie) and I love it very much, timely for my scrapbooking. The party ended at around 2:00pm

Last Monday, was Dj's Christmas party at Star City. Each employee was given 2 free ride-all-you can tickets. So, I skipped work (bad me, he he he) to join him. I've been there twice but not with husby so this time, I much enjoyed it, It was fun. I felt that I was a kid again enjoying the bump car ride, the balloon wheel (ferris wheel) and the breath taking zykloon loop (roller coaster). What an experience! I also did loved the tiange. With my 500 pesos, I had quality toys for my inaanak. I even bought a jelly made Nemo which lights up when pressed by hand. I put it in inside our car and oh the pillow soccer ball was kinda cute for only 90 pesos. I even had the dancing softdrink bottle for 100 pesos. It was definetely a fun filled experience with hubby.

A New life and A farewell...

My close friend, LP just called me a while ago. She's inviting me at her wedding this coming 22nd of the month. I was surprised, really I am. Know why, because she was once married (at the age of 20) twelve years ago. But she and her former husband separated after a couple of months of being married. She told me that everything is okay and things are settled between her and her ex. I may not know anything about the legal proceeding on this matter but I know her decision on getting married isn't right. But again, I don't want to interfere, it's her life, Im just here to give her a sisterly advice, if she's happy with her new found love I'm happy for her too.

Aside from the wedding event, another news shocked me, her younger sister, AP died of brain cancer last Aug. 26. What... Questions starts to tickle my mind. Why didn't LP told me when her sister died ,it's been months, AP was a close friend also. LP said that AP's death was unexpected that they didn't had the time to tell it to close friends. Only relatives was informed. I was sad because I wasn't able to say my last goodbye. I again asked her if it's the right time to get married, her family is in grief. It was her sister's request for them to get married before the year-ends. So that answers my questions.

Anyway, when I heard the news about AP's death, I was shocked. I thought that the chemo went out okay. I thought that she was a cancer survivor. But I was wrong, the chemo didn't helped her. Right now, tears are falling from my eyes. I know I cannot be with AP again and share some secrets about wifehood or just chat and enjoy laughing but my heart is happy for her because all her suffering from pain is over. To you AP wherever you are right now, I will always remember you as a sexy good friend and I will always cherish our joyful moments together.

Loving and living

A rainy Monday, what a great way to start the week. I can smell the fresh sweet fragrance of the rain. It reminds me of the times that my two siblings and I were kids. We enjoyed it when it rains. We love making paper boats and let if sail the rainfalls that overflow the streets or we enjoyed playing on the streets while the rain touches the ground. I also remember that mom prepare champorado or arroz caldo for our merienda. I can still remember when, mom used to read storybook for us when we can’t play outside during heavy rains or if mom can’t read us books, my siblings and I used to play pretending. I pretend that Im a doctor, or a model or a Hollywood celebrity or an Architect. It was fun pretending. I could be the president of the country if I want too or a famous scientist if my playful mind does so. Oh gee, I really miss those days. Those days that we were still kids and got nothing to do but to study and play.

Now that I had been one of those pretending jobs that I do when I was a kid, I suddenly realize that life being a grown-up is not that easy. It’s not like a paper boat that flows smoothly on rainfalls. Or it’s not like the kids that play carefree when it rains. Being a grown up has to face many responsibilities and struggle in life. I sometimes stumble, I sometimes fall, but because there are people who love me, it just makes me strong.

I know, life just like the rain has its end, so let’s all make life worth living and worth loving.

Have a blessed week everyone.

The Power of Silence

I really got nothing to blog about, except that I had a little argument with my officemate last Friday regarding workloads and division of work. I find him rude and very hard headed. Not a complete gent. I really wanted to freak out that day, but I still tried to get my senses intact. Tried not to speak when there's no good things to say to him. Just keep quiet and let him do the talking and the mumbling. I just told him "talk to me if you could think and reason out straight." Then that was it, he stops.

wish the vacation was extended....

I really had a good rest last weekend. I feel that I was rejuvenated and gain my strength from the things that I've been doing during the weekend.

1.Our inter-office bowling tournament had it's championship last Friday. We end up as the 1st runner up. Good thing I was in a team who plays really good in bowling. I really had fun during the game and the competition really made us closer to one another.

2.Still trying to complete my Christmas gift buying. Been doing this for a month already and I'm almost done. I enjoy wrapping gifts but hubby suggested to avail the free gift wrapping service the store offers. Nice idea huh, it not only saves time, it also saves money.

3.I and hubby went out last night. It wasn't the usual malling or clubbing. We went strolling at Riverbank Marikina. The place was awesome. I can't imagine that there is still a place where we can have fun but don't need to spend much money. I enjoyed eating fishball and the sago't gulaman. It brings back my childhood days where my parents usually brings us at Luneta or Manila Zoo during weekends. There's one Zoo I'm do want to visit and that's Avilon Zoo. Hopefully, we can visit the place before the year ends.

4.Since I was married and been very busy with my husby, I really don't have the chance to go bonding with my younger sister, and she was also busy with other things. J, my sister was always with her bestfriend M (that made me jealous sometimes). SO the other night, I called her over the phone and come to my place (she just live next door with my parents). I invited her to watch Nemo (her favorite) and had popcorn and soda. After the movie, we enjoy looking at our old photo albums and reminisce our childhood days. We laugh at each picture in the album. Each picture got it's stories to remember. Thank God for good memories ei:D

And now, it's back to reality again, busy busy busy with work. Ah oh, Nov. 29 is a holiday again, yipee!!!!

Another act of love from hubby

Dj just adores me.

He has my pic as his wallpaper in his laptop. To him, Im the most beautiful lady he has ever met. He makes me feel and look beautiful when I don't feel one. He made me feel sexy though I gained weight. To him, Im perfect (dapat lang noh, he he he). he massages my back when Im over worked at the office. He just made me smile when Im not in the mood. I really can't explain the love and the patience he has for me. As what I've said before, Im very lucky of having him in my life.

Too Early or Not...

Isn't it so exciting, that Christmas in now approaching. I can hear Christmas carols playing at the malls and some radio stations. The malls now are fully decorated with colorful Christmas lights. I can feel it now. I'm feeling it now.

After reading Toni's blog last Friday about Christmas cards, I got excited and wanted to do my Christmas shopping. I made a list and decides what gift will I buy for my relatives and friends.

I just started last Saturday, Since I and Dj were at the mall, I decided to look for things that are in my list. I found a neat and pretty acid free photo album for my sister. She loves going to different places here in the country and loves taking pictures as souvenir. So the photo album will surely make her eyes dazzle. I also bought my Christmas gift for hubby, a digital camera. He was eyeing on this camera, so I bought it a told him that it's my Christmas gift for him. I know it's kinda early giving it to him but I cant help it. He's like a kid and so persistent in asking me to buy the digicam. I know he can buy that camera but he wanted me to buy it for him (naglalambing ata). Also, I ordered some neat kikay stuff for my friends. Prices are very affordable and the packages are very cute. Just incase you run out of gift ideas,maybe you want to try this idea.

My lists aren't complete yet, there are plenty more people to buy for gifts but atleast, I started it and hoping that each person that will be recieving my gift will feel that they are important to me.

How about you have you started your Christmas shopping,remember, it's not the cost that counts it the though of remembering the person that matters!

Im back...

Finally, I finished tons of work here at the office. Guess I'm back,sort of.

After finishing those deadlines, I haven't feeling myself lately. Maybe because Im still tired from those demanding deadlines that I have. There are times that I almost do nothing here at work and there are times that workload seems to overflow. Yeah it's hard but I love my job. I find fulfillment and joy. I feel that Im important. The joy of being a woman....For me, its finding contentment, finding a place where I can show my craft and artistry.

Looking back, my parents came from a poor family. They were both from the province and decided to try their luck here at Manila. My father tried his best to send us three siblings to school. As a kid, I've seen my parents endeavor just to give us good education. So in return, I tried my very best to study hard. So when I graduated college, my parents where very proud of me. I can see their smile and their hearts are jumping for joy. Parents are really wise ei. It's true that they only want the best for us.

So now, the things that I've learn from school and the perseverance that my parent taught me is what Im practicing here at work. The knowledge and virtue that I've known from them (school & my parents) makes me a better person.

~~~*~~~
After office we'll have a bowling tournament. The tournament started last Friday. The last game was victorious for us. Our team won two games in a row which made us top in the team standing. I got an 80-120 score for the first and second game. Hopefully, we will win the next game tonight. I'll keep my fingers cross.
That's it for now and Happy weekend to all!!!
A restful weekend...
Last Saturday was a total rest day for me. I woke up at 10:00am, had grilled hotdogs and some wheat bread. Then I decided to watch tv when my eyes bit by bit closes. So there were I sleepy after breakfast. What a neat way to relax huh. I woke up at 2:30pm. When I open my eyes, saw hubby doing some ofc work, so with all my strength I jump off from bed and drink lots water. Hubby then asked me if I want to go at the mall. I was a little lazy to go out but cant help it. SM malls are on sale. I hurriedly took a shower, get dressed and we hit the road to visit SM Fairview.
Argggghhh...There were lots of people at SM (Im hating sale already), so I asked hubby if we could go at Robinson (which is infront of SM). After a few minutes, we were at robinson. I did a little shopping. Bought some shirt for me and hubby. Bought a new pair of shoes, a Christmas decor, and ofcourse the shoe rack that we really need at home. I got tired after 5 hours of shopping. So we decided to have dinner. We had shawarma with lots of veggies ( I asked the food server to add more veggies than the meat), it was delicious. After finishing the shawarma, I was really full then. We then went home and fix the shoe rack that we bought.
At home, hubby was very excited to assemble the rack, after 30 minutes, he finished it and cleaned those shoes which are under our bed. The shoes are all messy, with all those dust, It made me sneeze a couple of times. Hubby laugh and laugh in my sneezing. Anyway, while he was assembling the rack, I don't know what's with me that night that I decided to clean our ref at around 9:30pm, (maybe because I wake up late that made me energetic) After the ref, I cleaned the dish organizer, the bathroom, replaced bedding and pillow case. Dust the tv, computer, dvd player and other things that my eyes can see. While Im cleaning, hubby washes the car outside. We finished doing our late midnight cleaning at around 3:00am. We're both filthy, I took a shower, while hubby did some net surfing. When it was his turn to take a shower,I checked my emails. At around 3:45am, we kisses goodnight and went to bed. But before we have some shut eyes, I said to him "hmmm...I think I'll wake up a late again"
To Cez who is a dear ym chat friend, congratulation, she's 6 weeks pregnant.
Let's go at the grocery...
When I was still single my favorite things to shop was purely clothes, shoes, make up, perfumes and my cosmopolitan magazine. Now that I’m married for a year and a couple of months, my priority changed a bit in buying. I still buy those things (except for cosmopolitan magazine, Im a good housekeeping reader already) but ofcourse, im a more of a wise shopper than the spend all girl. Since Im the wife, I do handle all the budgeting and spending. My budget are divided in paying the electric bill, water bill, phone bill, cellphone bill, credit cards, groceries and other minor things. Before when we were newly married, I got problems in budgeting our earnings, which end up in having no money at all before the next pay day come (gastadora talaga ko). Hubby then taught me on how to budget our money. He is the thrifty kind of person and I’m not. He taught me to have a couple of envelopes where I will write the the bills that I have to pay. So during payday, I put money in the envelopes, let say 700 pesos for the elctric bill, so on the next payday, I should complete our monthly payment for the electric bill. I do the same on the other monthly bills that I have to pay. It’s very effective for me.
As a wise shopper, I do make it a point that I find a supermarket where the groceries are at a competitive price and has clean environment. I shop twice a month for meat, vegetables, dry goods, bread and juices. I've done shopping at some major supermarket here at Q.C. and among the supermarkets I’ve been, it's Shopwise Cubao which I loved and enjoy. Why do I enjoy shopping at Shopwise? Purely because, it has a big and clean selling area. They also have an ample aisle space and not to mention, the very clean and fresh smelling meat/fish section that they have. The parking is a no problem to shopper too. Aside from having a covered secure parking slots, shopper can also enjoy a free parking for a minimun purchase of 300 pesos. It also have a long shopping hours from 10 am to 11pm not like other shops that only stay up till 9pm or 10 pm.
Oh hubby bought this Kyowa Steam grill, its like a george foreman grill but a much cheaper. I don’t know if kyowa brands are okay buy I find the the stem grill efficient. It cooks our porkchops very tasty and it has a flavor reservoir which collect all the fat and grease from the grilled food. The collected oil can be used as a dip if added with some herbs and seasoning (which I don’t intend to do ha). Since hubby loves grilled foods, he can now enjoy, this dishes which are fat free and not to mention the non smoke cooking.
My new health routine
It was only yesterday that I got a chance to go at the supermarket and bought little something for the weekend. Actually, Dj and I are scheduled to go at the grocery tomorrow but I was a bit tempted to went last night after work because I wanted to buy some romaine lettuce. Im into a low carb diet, so keep on eating lots of fresh veggies, fruits, fish, meat and lots and lots of water. I haven't eaten rice for five days since I started dieting. It's a bit hard but by thinking that I must lose weight and the health benifits that it will give me, keep me going on. So as a result I've lose 6 pounds already, isn't that something. I intended to do this diet until i achieve my ideal weight based on my BMI. I'm a bit overweight and being overweight is not healthy. Also my Ob advice me to lose weight, it will help me regulate my monthly period and eventually help me concieve.
This dieting seems to be very exciting for me. I really don't like raw veggies like lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber to name some but now, I like them a lot. So goodbye to pasta (my favorite), pizza, hamburgers, rice and those carbo foods for a while. But I'll be eating them again in moderation once I achieved my ideal weight and I do promise that once I achieved it, I'll take foods in moderation to avoid gaining too much weight. I'll keep you updated regarding this dieting that I'm doing. So this is all for now.
Let's stay healthy and happy weekend to all.
My Prayer...
"Buntis na naman si Mayet" (Mayet is pregnant again)
A text that I recieved a minute ago from a close officemate.
I texted back "talaga, panigurado aasarin na naman ako bukas ng mga ka officemate natin"(really, for sure, I know our officemates will make fun of me tomorrow)
We've been married for a year and 4 months already and still with no baby. I know I must wait, I know God has His reason for everything. Here I am, praying and not losing hope that soon our Mighty Creator will give us a little baby,an angel coming from my tummy. I'll patiently wait for for our baby as like how I patiently wait for the right man to came along.
The 67th UAAP Championship
In the 67th UAAP basketball final games, the Green Archers won the crown last night. Too bad, my fellow Tamarraws' didn't won the championship (with a sad voice). Oh well that's life, sometimes you win sometimes you don't.
I missed the game last night. I cant skipped work and I didn't got the chance to watched it on TV (I think its was a live telecast).
If Im not mistakin' the first time I attended a game was in 1st year in college, attending the UAAP was very exciting and breathtaking. It's a must for freshmen student to watch the game and it serves as an attendance in our P.E class. The game I attended that time was a FEU vs. DLSU playoff. As a remember it was Abbarientos and Limpot who were very famous that time. I went home very proud and without a voice (for cheering so much for my team) that time because it was my school who won that game.
jennie, a lasalista, YM me earlier and told me that it's everybody's game last night, DLSU or the FEU team might win. She was sick since Tuesday and so she was able watched the game on TV. I also congratulate a friend (a lasalista too)thru yahoo ym. Funny she too was also sick yesterday and was able to watch the live telecast, hmmmm...What a coincidence.
Well, to all Green Archers congrats congrats......and see you on the 68th championship.
For the rest of the story about the game last night visit this
Btw, Happy weekend to all!!!
A short love story....
What Flavour Are You? I am Chocolate Flavoured.I am Chocolate Flavoured.
I am sweet and a little bit naughty. I am one of the few clinically proven aphrodisiacs. Sometimes I can seem a little hard, but show warmth and I soon melt. What Flavour Are You?
~~~*~~~

It's been two years now since we become a couple.....

I first met Dj in 1997. He was an engineer at DMCI and I was a designer in an Electric Contractor Company. I was with somebody and he was with somebody else too. Years had past, we became constant chatmates and often call at each other. I considered him a great friend though we didn't see each other again. In the year 2002, I broke up with my boyfriend for four years. It really hurts that time, so there was I, looking for someone who will spent time in listening to my hurting. I called my girlfriends but they only worsen my hurt feeling. I decided to call Dj. There he was...Listening to me for hours. No matter what time do I call in his place, he patiently listens and talk with concern. After couple of talks with him, I find myself liking him, his concern, his beautiful manly voice. He then asked me to meet him again. He will fetch me at work and have dinner. I said yes..... And so the next day, I was excited and my heart is running fast. Boy, I can wait to see him again in person. After, five years, we will meet again. Then, the time I've waited come. He look much matured this time and he as a car already. It's a bit weird, we again introduce ourselves to each there and shake hands. We had dinner at Thai in a Box at Podium. He then drove me home after some chats. So that was it, I start falling for him. So after 5 days (yes 5 days) we become officially a couple. After 8 months we decided to get married.

And now, I'm happily married with him with no regrets. I truly believe that it's God's perfect timing for us to realized that we are meant for each other.

Oh by the way, for those who are curious why I and my 4 year boyfriend broke up....Its because, he made a fool out of me. On the mid part of our 4th year of being together, he courted somebody else. Its okay if he found someone else, but the bad thing was, that somebody was my cousin. Oh man, I was really hurting that time. Dj was there as a good friend. We really didn't expect that that we will end up together. Now, my former boyfriend and my cousin are married. I forgive them both already. The guy texted me during my wedding asking forgiveness and telling me that he made the worse mistake in his life,hurting me. Anyway, Im very much happy now and very much in love with my husband.

Anyways, I gave hubby and card the other day(Sept. 22 our anniv). It has a message on front like this "To my boyfriend, happy anniversary." He commented why such message. I answered back, the sweetness when we were just starting as a couple wont change. He then kissed and hug me.

It's nice having someone who truly loves you.

He rules this Sunday...

He rules this Sunday....He got to chose the dvd that we'll watched for the day. He pick 3 movies which are more of a brutal movie to me.

Death in A French Garden. Its 1985 murder, sex and intriguing movie. I loved the movie. The only thing is, it's in French. Good thing it has English caption. For a while I find it hard to watch the movie while reading the English caption, it's like Im reading a book but at the mid part of the movie, I end up liking it. After all the movie has a good story

Payback, A 1999 movie. A bit bloody. Dj finds the movie good, I find it very brutal. The hammering of Porter's foot is very painful to me. Though it wasnt directly shown in the movie, I can imagine it and can feel the pain too.

Another movie that we watched was a 1995 film Desperado, another bloody and a revengefull film. Though I wan't able to put my complete focus on this movie because I was making spag and Toni's Chessy Galric bread, I much like this movie than Payback. Salma Hayek really is a stunner.

My eyes went irritated in watching those 3 movies in a row but its okay, next week it's my turn. Nah we wont watch another dvd movies at home, I'll ask him to bring me somewhere for lunch or dinner perhaps. I'm kinda missing Superbowl of China . I loved their yummy hakao and their vegetarian spring roll. Oh cant wait for saturday. Oh by the way, The cheesy garlic bread of Toni's was vey yummy, we had it for dinner last night with the spaghetti ofcourse.

Its a Monday and lets start the day right. Have a wonderful week to all.

My cooking experiment

Oh I miss blogging, I was busy this past days, finally, got time to blog a little.

Since I submitted my preliminary works to our client yesterday, I was able to come home early. I said to myself, I'll cook something for Dj since the past 2 days, we had corned beef and fried bangus for dinner (Monday & Tuesday). Though I'm a bit tired, I manage to visit and do some buying at Shopwise Cubao. I was thinking of cooking stir fry vegetable in oyster sauce and Ma Po Tofu (good thing there's a Lee Kum Kee mix for this recipe) but I decided to cook something that I really work hard for, cook something without the help of mixes. So I get a grocery basket off to the meat area I go, I bought A kilo of Beef, some celery, half a kilo of ground pork (for the carbonara I'll cook on Saturday), french bread, mc cormick thyme leaves and oregano(for Toni's recipe). I get to see my favorite purple yam hopia, but I decided not to buy because I still have mongo hopia in out fridge which I bought at SM Manila last Saturday (Im crazy about hopia). Oh anyway, at 7:30pm, I was then finish with buying so I hailed an fx and went home. Luckily there's no traffic. I was home at 8:15pm. I then borrowed mom's pressure cooker so I can make the beef tender in a few minutes time. I really don't know what to cook. I just trust my sense of taste. So when the meat was tender, I saute the garlic, onions, celery then I add the beef (which I cut in strips). After a while, I add some oyster sauce. At first, a find the taste good but Im not yet satisfied so a put a dash of oregano and some chili powder....The verdict, it was yummy. I let it simmer for a minute and wooohooo, I cook a tasty dish .

Dj arrived home just in time for dinner. When he tasted the beef dish, he said that it taste good and ask what's the name of the dish, I just smiled and told him na its my labor of love dish. He was a little bit confused with my answer but he didn't mind, he was busy eating :D

A wedding and a reunion

Yesterday we (my mom, my father, auntie M, auntie O, Uncle L, grandma,2 cousins and my favorite nice Katkat) went to a wedding, the wedding of Jerame & Joy, Joy is my 2nd cousin whom I met for the first time just yesterday. I'm not really close to her. Its my parents and her parents who are close and were childhood playmates during their younger years. Actually, its more of a family reunion to me. I meet cousins and aunties and tito's whom I've never seen in my entire life.

The wedding mass was held at Immaculate Concepcion Parish at Pasig City. When the mass was over, they started to chat and mingle with one another. My uncle L keep on introducing me and my cousins to our other relatives. There was a scene that my father (Lets call him Daddy J), and one of his cousin whom last seen each other during gradeschool days pa, meet at that occasion after 5 decades. His cousin, start shedding tears, those were tears of joy as she explained.

There's also this incident that my Uncle L was talking to one cousin . . , so she asked where his wife(Aunt M) was, This cousin don't actually know who Aunt M is. So Uncle L, pointed to the lady (Aunt M) with a minty green blouse who is behind me. So his cousin approached me and asked in a confused voice:
C: ikaw ba asawa ni Leo?
(are you Leo's wife).
Jen: Ah nde po...mashado ko bata sa kanya. Uncle ko po sya.
(Ah no Im not, Im too young for him, he's my uncle)
Im his daughter (pointing to my father)
C ah ganun ba.(Oh I see)
Then I smiled and hold her right hand and make mano to her.

At the reception, the chatting and mingling didn't stop. Everyone was so happy and glad to see us. Then one aunt commented that I look like Aiko Melendez (mataba kc ako eh, he he he). Then one aunt keep on hugging and kissing me, then one uncle asked for my cell no. I was like star.

In all the wedding celebration I attended, this wedding is what I call intimate. All close family, relatives and some friends are invited. I really had a great time. I didn't regret in skipping my work yesterday. I had a chance to meet my other families. Gee Daddy J's clan is so big huh.

Oh by the way, I also enjoyed the food. It what terrific.

Have a nice weekend to all!

Sound the Alarm...

5:50am....what!!!! OMG its 5:50am! DJ is late for his shuttle service for work. He is very late. To those who didn't know, Dj is working at Cavite while we stayed in our little home at Q.C. He manage to go to his work through a shuttle service (a bus) from his office.

Our usual routine during workdays, is to wake up early, I wake up at around 3:45am to prepare Dj's very early breakfast , He wake up at 4:00am to get his self ready. He then leave the house at around 4:30am to meet the service at the pick up area somewhere at Cubao by 4:50am.

So for today,we didn't heard the two alarms that we set. Yup we set two alarms from two cellphones just incase we don't hear the first one.

Dj: Labs, its 5:50am.(with a shocking voice)
Jen: Hugh...ie, your late na! Will you still go to work.
Dj: Dunno. Matraffic. But I have to. Too many work less time
Jen: Bring the car with you.
Dj: I'll see. Mag shower muna ko.
Jen: K.
(Then I prepare a tuna sandwich for him)

So that was it, after making ourselves ready, we hit the traffic road of Q.C. It was 6:45 in the morning and I'm too early. I usually go to work at 7:15am.

(It was the first time after 9 months that the he drove me to work. I kinda miss it.)

I was at work at 7:20am , I was the first one to be here. Then one of my officemate came and he said "your too early ah." One by one my officemates arrived, and all of them were a bit astonish to see me this early.The usual time I get here is 8:30-8:45am (he he he).

Anyway, at 10:25am Dj texted me to inform me that he is at work already. Cheez, he was driving for almost 3 an a half hours. Wawa naman beybi ko. I'll give him a massage tonight.

Oh by the way, I found out from my mom that it rain this early morning, maybe that's the reason why we didn't heard the alarm or maybe its the rain that makes us sleep soundly. Oh well, the reason behind it is a secret that only time knows.

By the way, It's boss E's birthday. We had a yummy lunch courtesy of him. Thanks for the lunch boss and Happy birthday.

September....September....

Whoa, time flies so fast. The "ber month is starting and Christmas is just a few months away. While Im writhing this, my officemate next to me is playing a chipmunks Christmas carol in his PC. This guy must be that excited for Christmas which remind me to start my early Christmas shopping for my dozen and a half inaanak. Anyways its too early yet, Im planning to do it by the end of the month to avoid rush and ofcourse due to financial constrain I better do my shopping every payday .

Speaking of September, The Gateway mall at Araneta will open this month. Cant wait to visit that mall. The five level Shopping Center will run from the LRT 2 Araneta Center Station at Aurora Boulevard and connect to the northern gate of Araneta Coliseum. The Mall is also link to the MRT-3 station at EDSA, so shoppers will have an easy access to it. My shapaholic trait is reserved for the opening of that mall, I really cant wait.

Hmmm...What else, this month my mom will celebrate her 59th birthday. Mom's age is getting older but her looks nah, she looks younger, I've asked her secret yesterday. She joke, "it's in the blood." No wonder I look a bit younger than my age (yabang ko noh!!!).

Ah I almost forget, this month too, I and Dj will be celebrating our 2nd year of being together as couple. It was September the 22nd when I accepted him as my bf and after 8 months we got married. Too fast isn't it, Cupid really hit us, so why the wait. After all, we been friends since 1997 and just found out that were in love with each other after 5 years. That's what i called in HIS perfect time. :D

Hmmm...time really flies so fast, today Im writhing about September events, in a couple of days, It's October that Im thinking of.

Have a happy month of September everyone!!!

A birthday to remember...

Yesterday was the birthday of Dj'd father...

While we were on our way to his parent house, Dj was telling lots of stuff about his father. That he is a strict father, a hard working tatay and a very loving one. He taugh his kids the value of money, respect to oneself and respect to others. He taugh all his kids the value of life and how to survive during hard times.

During their childhood days, their parents lose their jobs and cant find any at all, so what his father did, he tried selling balut. The balut selling was a big hit. His dad earn enough money to send them to good schools till college. So in return, Dj and his two sisters studied very hard. They graduated with flying colors. Now, they have good jobs and their life is much comfier than before.

Anyway, when we arrived at their house, everyone in his family was so excited. His mom prepared some food so we can go eat it in the park,a picnic celebration as what J, my sister-in-law described it and told her kids to greet their grandpa a happy bday later on.

At about 4:30 in the afternoon we were at the park. We lay our handy banig (native mat) on the grass and prepare everything, a few inch away from our area was a stone, a stone where a person's alpha and omega is written, a stone where his dad's name was written. Its been three years now since his dad passed away. I and Dj were married for a year and a half and known each other for two years. Too bad, I wasn't able to meet and thank the guy behind the wonderful husband that I have. It's not that I want to meet him now, I might faint if that happen.

Oh well, I know wherever his dad is right now, he is very happy with his kids for they grew up as responsible adults.

A New Template

Dj's funny ways...

Since I did the cleaning last Thursday, I and Dj just have a very relaxing week. With no household chores to do so we watched some DVD's, while eating popcorn. When we got tired of watching, he turned on the vcd player and listen to his mp3 collections. Then suddenly, Dj started dancing. He was so funny. He's like a strip tease dancer. Oh men, then I told him, take it off, take it off. He took his shirt off and continued dancing with his cute belly, I find him sexy. When he was about to take his pants off, he said in a minimal voice "Labs, Im hungry". Ha ha ha. He went hungry with his dancing. Enough of his strip tease gig. So I prepared an upside down cake for him.

While baking, I decide to check on my emails and I found out that our PC have some problem, so Dj reformatted our PC. I think we have to buy a new video card and sound card for our PC for its not that efficient anymore.

Well, after reformatting the PC, Dj asked if I wanted to go somewhere else. I told him "nah, I enjoy just being here and there's no place like home"

He then again played his mp3 and start dancing again. This time the music was a love song, he then took my and hands and we dance as if we were in a ball. Ha ha ha. I find it corny but its sweet. :D

A Cat and An Ogre on a Holiday

It's Quezon City day, as expected it's a special non working holiday and since Dj works at Cavite, it's only me here at home.

I had a chance to do some cleaning here. Did some sweeping and some dusting, wash the dishes, and laundry some clothes. It's a bit tiring but I enjoy every single moment of it. Anyway, after cleaning the house, I asked my niece to accompany me here to watch two DVD's

Garfield the Movie

It's a funny movie. Garfield(voice of Bill Murray), everyone's favorite feline. A self confessed lasagna lover, who parked hiself on his favorite comforter in front of the television. When Jon(Breckin Meyer), takes Garfield to visit veterinarian Liz Wilson(Jennifer Love Hewitt), she gaved Jon a tag-wagging, panting creatures named Odie, A lovable, witty dog that Garfield become jealous of.

This movie really is cute. It makes me laugh when Garfield does his funny dancing with Odie and when Garfield was ask by Jon to eat the mouse but he refuse to. Can you imagine, a cat who hates eating mouse and even hates cat food. Oh well, since Garfield is my favorite since high school, this movie is a must see for me.

Shrek 2

If Part 1 of the movie was about dragons and fighting the evil lord Farquaad , This time, Shrek faces his greatest challenge, the in-laws.

Shrek and Princess Fiona return from their honeymoon to an invitation to visit the princess' parents. So the newly weds set off to Far Far Away Kingdom.

All the villagers of the Kingdom greet their returning Princess, and her parents joyfully anticipate the homecoming of their daughter and her new prince but no one could have prepared them for the sight of their new son-in-law, not to mention how much their little girl had well changed.

This movie is a heart warming love story. I love it when, Shrek become a good looking guy when he drank the potion, the potion also changes Princess Fiona into her real self. The potion's effect will only remain forever if Shrek will kiss his true love. At the end of the story, the princess chose the Ogre, the old Shrek he loves and not the good looking Shrek. Hmmm.. the last part of the movie made me cry. Promise, it really made me cry.

And so, I and my niece enjoy watching the two movies. I think, I'll watch it again on Saturday with Dj. I know Dj will also enjoy the movie since he has a kid like attitude like me :D

My Saturday was Fun

Last Saturday, Hubby and I went at the World Trade Center for the Manila International Book Fair which celebrated its 25th Anniversary

I really had fun that day. Seeing those wide choices of books. I really wanted to buy all the books I found but some are not on sale and expensive. So I decided to buy 2 Sophie Kinsella books which are "Confession of a Shapaholic" and "Shapaholic Takes Manhattan". I got them with a 10% discount. That's a big thing. I started reading the first Shapaholic book and it's really hilarious. Cant wait to finish it and start reading the second book.

There were lots of booth there such as ABS-CBN booth which sell kiddy vhs, Readers's Digest, Powerbooks, Fullybook(where I bought the Kinsella book), Aviba, Summmit Publication and many more. National Bookstore has a booth also, a big one, as Jennie had mentioned in her previous post, it's more of a branch than a booth. Too bad she went on a Friday. I wasn't able too see her personally.

The fair has a P5.00 entrance fee, but some guy gave us a leaflet which allows us to enter the fair for free. So we had a P10.00 saving. Yup we got a discount on the books and on the entrance fee but the prices of softdrink are a bit higher that the original price. A can of Pepsi cost P35.00. Dj joke a bit, he said " mura nga mga books dito pero ang pagkain hindi". I told him nevermind the food, we can eat outside, the books are much important here :)

We left the place at around 4:00pm. I was wearing a huge smile that time. I was very hapy with the two books that I bought at the fair. By the way, I kept the name tags given to us at the entrance. I will put it in the scrapbook I'll soon start. It will serve as a souvenir :D

TGIF and Im home.

Well, I’m just here at home. Resting. I’m sick. Got cough and cold and worse I’ve been sneezing too much. Oh it really gives me a headache. But I manage to blog. Ha ha ha, I’m a certified blog addict).

I texted hubby, Told him that I'm not feeling good and got to stay home. He answered back. “Okay, you take care. Let nanay muna take care of you and I’ll do the rest later after work. Miss you”.
I’m very lucky of having a husband who is so caring and a mom who is just next door, who cooks for me and Dj when we get home late, wash our dishes when I'm late for work in the morning and don’t have time to wash them. Teaches me to cook and mend worn clothes. I'm a mama’s girl. Though I'm married now, my mom takes care of me that is, if Dj is not around. Like now, she prepared a sumptuous arroz caldo for me. Yumyum. Oh well, I got to go back to bed now before mom sees me hitting the keyboard.

I love you mom and your the best mom in the world!

Happy Weekend everyone!

Looking back, 13 years behind

Its been a long time since I visited my friendster account, So I did check it, one by one I look at each friend that I have in my list. Most of my college barkada are there. Looking at them, brings back the time when I was in college. It was June of 1991 when I first entered the university ground. My first subject was on the 7th floor of the Technology Building. Yaiks, the elevator was broke. So i got to hit the stairs. Upon reaching the 7th floor, I was tired and sweating. Good thing I brought a handy towelette. Hmmm...People here are very odd. Some are wearing rugged jeans with painted designs, others are wearing those funny looking shade. Its their fashion statement. Its kinda odd but I find it cool. I was wearing a plain shirt, denim pants and a slip on. I look like a freshman alright.

Anyway, on my first subject, my professor was kinda rude in his wordings. He uses words like ass____, f__ck and words like that. I was shock at his wording but after a while I got used to it na. Months have passed and I gained friends. I have 9 barkadas. Three of them are Chinese Filipino, another one from Bataan who much prepare to be a priest that to finish his architectural course, one from Laguna who loves to paint, another one from q.c who likes photography. This guy really is good at it. And four (including me), boyish girls. We have different likes and hobbies but we get along together perfectly.

Studying in a university seated at university belt is kinda hard. With all those malls, cinemas and hangouts near the school, its tempting but Im lucky of having such responsible friends. So its was, year 1994 when Jerome, the oldest in our group decided to run for student council president. He won the election. So then on, the SC room become our hangout. Its the place were we do our assignments, were we eat our snacks and have some chats. In 1995, I joined the theater club. I auditioned and luckily bang the lead role. We did the play at our school auditorium. The rest of my friend were happy for me. In 1995 TO 1996, it was our last year in the university. We have 2 thesis. For the first semester, it was a feasibility study. Its an individual thesis but we create a study group compose of us ten ofcourse. We passed Thesis 1. Then on the second semester, thesis 2 was a bit harder. After those feasibility study on Thesis 1, The second thesis is all about making those study into drawings, do a building model, do plans and some schematic drawings, do presentations. Man, I really lose weight that time. After, 4 months, we took the deliberations individually. Its was frightening for a college student but everyone has to undergo it to pass the whole course. We passed the delibs and finally, it was march 23 1996 when we wore those black gown, We graduated college atlast after 5 long years.

My college days was fun and heartbreaking. Its were I had a failing grade in one of those math subject in 4th year. Its were I first had my first heartbreak. I cried during those days but now looking back, I just laugh at it. I'm just a girl that time. Now, Im a woman (but still boyish).

Well, if you'll wondering what happen to the rest of the barkada, five of them are working abroad (4 guys and 1 girl) and still single. My two girl pals are here in the country working in an construction firm and both have boyfriends and as I've heard, both couples are planning for marriage. The other guy from Bataan has a family now, he decided to finish architecture rather than becoming a priest. The other guy who love photography still do his photography stint and has a wife and a kid. Me, Im happily married and enjoying my life as a wife.

Looking back really is fun. Remembering those days in college really makes me smile. Its been 13 years since I first took the elevator of Tech building, 8 years since I wore the black gown for graduation and 2 hours ago since I send email to my friends through friendster. Technology rocks woohaaa! :D

No work at work (does it make sense)

I've been working here at the office for almost 4 years now. For 4 years, I've experienced going home late, pressured deadlines, doing two project at a time and worse, same date datelines. Looking back at all those, It makes me really proud of surviving those times.
Right now, we don't have any new projects to work on. We have existing projects but only a few and soon completion of those project will come. IM afraid that, if our marketing manager cant find any new project for the company, we might lose our jobs. For me its okay, I can easily find another job but for those who didn't finish any 4 year course in college like the janitor or the messenger, finding is not that easy. Mr.N, one of the company driver mentioned that if after 3 months and still were like this, retrenchment might follow. We've been like this for a couple of months already. That's why, I have ample time to do blogging here at work. Sometimes, I find it boring doing nothing at all.
I do make use of my VL now. Before when deadlines seems to overcome our working hours, we can't use of our VLs. Seems like its forbidden here. But now, I've used my 7th VL just last week, consumed all my SLs and I can go home early now. Oh well, that's life. Sometimes your on top sometimes your not. Funny just this morning, I noticed a print out in our printer. I don't know who printed it but it says "Love your work but not your company, because you'll never know when the company stop loving you". Is it a sign, a sign that my boss will terminate me...ha ha ha, hope its not.

On the Lighter side
I found this article,I wanna share with you guys. It discuss ways on how to fall in love with our job all over again. Know the secrets in bringing back the spark. :)

Thursday Tips-On Ovens

ruth , As a promise here are some tips on how to clean the oven & stoves.
The inside of ovens and stoves can become disgustingly dirty over time. The best method of cleaning of them is to keep on top of the spills that occur. Below are great tips for keeping ontop of the mess caused inside your oven or stove whilst cooking:

1. Aluminum foil is quickly to the rescue in this case. You can keep your oven cleaner by lining the bottom of your oven with aluminum foil. When it is dirty, remove the foil and put new down.

2. Keep your pans that you use for baking cleaner without the hassle of a sticky mess by lining the baking pan with foil, with the dull side up and then spray with cooking spray - this allows you to cook with out the big clean up mess!

3. When spills occur on our cooker immediately sprinkle the spill with salt. Wipe it up once things have cooled down. It will absorb the spill.

4.To dissolve baked on spills apply a paste of baking soda and water it will shift the mark with a bit of rubbing.

5. Place a small dish of ammonia on the upper rack of the oven and a pan of water on the bottom. Leave the oven warm over night. Air the oven in the morning and wipe away the grease with an all purpose cleaner and warm water.

6. Try to avoid spills in your oven by placing casseroles or pies which are the main offenders of spills on a baking sheet or silver foil when cooking.

6. If you have been busy cooking and now you have a bunch of grease in the bottom of your stove you can clean this out fast. Just sprinkle the bottom of your over with a bit if dishwasher powder. Just the area with a few paper towels and wipe out clean with a wet wash rag.

Thursday Tips...

The kitchen is my favorite area at our small house. Though its a small one, cleaning it takes time. So here are some simple tips that can make cleaning much easier and wont cost much, the materials that will be used are readily available at our home.

1.clean as You go
When preparing foods in the kitchen like peeling onions, pototoes, carrots, or other foods that you have to cut and peel, place a plastic shopping bag in the sink and put your peelings in it while you are chopping and peeling that way can just pull the bag out and pitch it easily without no time at all.
To save time and mess when preparing a meal, hook a spare plastic bag to the inside of a kitchen drawer. You can clear debris into it as you go, so the worktop remains uncluttered. At the end dispose of the rubbish in one trip to the bin.

2.Cut grease and odor on dishes
Oh I love washing dishes!!!

Problems with grease and odors in your kitchen? You can cut both grease problems and odors from grease in the kitchen by adding a tablespoon of vinegar to hot soapy water when you are washing the dishes. This leaves a nice fresh scent in your kitchen without an added expense of sprays and such

3.Cleaning the refrigerator
I never know what to clean the fridge or freezer with, I do not want to use chemicals as my food is going in there, well now I do this. Wash with a solution of equal parts water and vinegar, it cleans and freshens without any worries

4.Disinfect wood cutting boards
Not contented with washing with dishwashing liquid then try this... Clean and disinfect wood cutting boards. Wipe with vinegar. Another idea is if your cutting board smells like the garlic you chopped up yesterday? Use baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) to clean and deodorize your cutting boards because it is a food safe cleaner! Sprinkle baking soda on a damp sponge, scrub and rinse clean! Now you are all set to chop those onions!

5.Remove fish or rotten food odor
Place a bowl of white vinegar on the counter or other effected area for a few hours. The odour will disappear for good.

6.Remove food stains from your fingers
If you find after preparing foods your fingers are stained. Try the following tip to remove food color from your fingers: Potatoes will take food stains off your fingers. Just slice and rub raw potato on the stains and rinse with water.

7.Softer hands while washing dishes
Do you hate what washing the dishes does to your hands?

Soften your hands while you are doing the dishes by adding a tablespoon of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) to your soapy water. This little addition to your dishwater will soften your hands while cutting through that grease from greasy dishes all at the same time! A great tip for softer hands after washing the dishes is to put a few drops of lemon on your hands after doing dishes. This really softens your hands and does wonders for your nails at the same time

Happy Cleaning!!!

Praise God...

Its a nice day though its raining. I can smell the sweet scent of the drizzle coming from the outside of our house. Im so blessed of having another day. Im so blessed knowing that my parents are still there. Lucky of knowing that my family are still with me. Blessed that I have Dj in my life. Blessed for I am a happy person though there are times that my sky is dark as if a downpour will happen. During those times, God's presence is always there, Im very thankful with everything that God has given me.

Let me share my favorite song, that everytime we sing it at our church, cant help to shed in tears. This song really touches the inner me.

POWER OF YOUR LOVE

LORD I COME TO YOU, LET MY HEART BE CHANGED, RENEWED;
FLOWING FROM THE GRACE, THAT I'VE FOUND, IN YOU.
LORD I'VE COME TO KNOW, THE WEAKNESSES I SEE IN ME,
WILL STRIPPED AWAY, BY THE POWER OF YOUR LOVE.
HOLD ME CLOSE, LET YOUR LOVE SURROUND ME
BRING ME NEAR, DRAW ME TO YOUR SIDE
AND AS I WAIT, RISE UP LIKE THE EAGLE
AND SOAR WITH YOU, YOUR SPIRIT LEADS ME ON
BY THE POWER OF YOUR LOVE

LORD UNVEIL MY EYES
LET ME SEE YOU FACE TO FACE
THE KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR LOVE
AS YOU LIVE,
LORD RENEW MY MIND
AS YOUR WILL UNFOLD IN MY LIFE
IN LIVING EVERY DAY
BY THE POWER OF YOUR LOVE

Good Morning everyone, have a wonderful day ahead!

A great weekend

Last Saturday, Dj and I was about to see a play at 7pm, but before that, we brought our car in an auto shop to do some fixing. After a few minutes of watching, I got bored with what the mechanic is doing, so I rush at the booktore across the street, leaving Dj at the auto shop. I really dont have anything in mind on what to buy. Im just looking for anything as in anything that I can buy. A paperclip, a scissor or a nice parchment paper perhaps. Then my feet brought me at the book section. I remeber toni's suggestion, a Paulo Coelho Bestseller, The Alchemist. But there are two questions that botheres me, will I or will not buy the book. I'm afraid that, I might not have enough time in reading it. Im afraid that, it will be in a shelf and let the dust be its companion. This is the reason why I stop buying good books before. I was really busy with work. I was busy with other things. I forgot that reading was my first love next to drawing. Reading was my companion during the times I was lonely at my room. Its not yet too late, isnt it? I can still start all over again, and buy good books, where I can learn things in life. Anyway, I decided to buy the book. Its a good book. Im not yet finish with it but, Im learning good thoughts from the writer.

Dj was so happy knowing that Im into reading and planning to buy some more books, He promised to buy a nice shelf once I have those good books I want. :D

Anyway, About the play. It was a nice play. The play was entitled "Unang Corinto" (1 Corinthian). A story about a church and the personal problems that each member encounters. The story entails that, wherever you are, whatever is your status in life, everybody commit mistakes, everybody has his own problem to face. People from all walks of life has his ups and down, the only One that people can depend on is Trusting God and asking forgiveness.

I had a very relaxing weekend. I got a nice book and seen a play. We had a nice dinner too. A sizzling blue marlin, prepared by Dj. Aint it sweet...

music and i

This morning in bed, I couldnt harldy move a muscle. I want to sleep all day but wait, I have a submission to make at work. Sheesh, its so nice to just lay down and have more time to sleep. Anyway, with all my might I hurriedly jump from bed and turned on the radio. Its playing one of my fave music, a RnB song. While listening, i notice, bit by bit, Im changing my mood and singing as well. There must be a magical spell in a song. A spell that turn my whole being into its proper place. Being a music lover that I am, I have tons of music collection at my parents place when I was single. I still want to buy cds to update my collections but dont have yet the time, and our place is small, dunno where will i store those cds I want to buy.  The only frustration that I have is, I cannot play any instrument. Good thing Dj knows how to play the guitar, with a music magazine and a guitar, all is set for us.

This remind me, I promise Dj to buy a guitar for his birthday (though its next year pa). I better start saving some money or else i might end up in a ukelele.

Happy Weekend Everyone

Im goin' home, leavin' the office and makin' dinner...

At Work

IM still at work. I decided to write something here before I go home. My feeling now is so high. I feel the annoyance with my boss. He is so rude. After doing everything to finish my deadline today, he don't appreciated me. Yeah I admit, Im late for my submittal but man, what do he thinks of me, superwoman. He instructed me to do this and that, while doodling on my paper. Shucks how can i understand his drawing if he don't write neatly and his mind changes, he has lots of ideas. That's why I always do revisions. For today, I had had 5 revision on the same project.I hate him only consolation is, IM being paid for it.

IM Home

Well after the tiring at work. IM finally home. My security place, a place where no one can boss around. In my home, IM the boss (secondly to dj ofcourse). I just finish making dinner. We have steaming rice and tokwa't (bean curd) baboy for our main dish. I just deep fry the pork and tokwa till brown. Cut into small cubes. Then chopped onions(more onions for a superb taste). Add calamansi juice (about 15 pieces for a quarter kilo of pork), soy sauce & chili powder. Just mix everything. Then its done. Hmmm..In a couple of while, dj will be arriving, so got to fix the table.

By the way, the tokwa't baboy is much tastier if spicy. :)

Its another week for me!

Sunday is almost ending. A few more minutes and it will be a brand new week . Hmm...It will be a tiring week again. Wish I can stop working and stay home and be a simple wife. But I cant. Living now a days is very expenensive. Everything is being paid, from electric bills to cellphone to credit cards to groceries. Oh my, what more if we have kids already.

Hubby commented earlier that, he wish we were rich, and have a huge businesss, so we dont have to make ourselves slaves from our boss'. I just smiled and told him that "labs sorry were not".

Oh well, got to have some shut eyes dont want to meet monday that early.

Spaghetti (with white sauce) anyone?

I got this recipe from my boss, way back in 1998.

Try using nestle cream, 7-up/sprite & banana ketchup instead of tomato sauce or the readily available spaghetti sauce. Just saute the onions and garlic, then add the cook ground beef. Add the ketchup, 7-up/sprite & cream. Let is simmer. Add the rest of the ingredients(bacon,ham,grated cheese.) Then add salt or/and sugar to taste. Voila, a tasty white spaghetti sauce. Just pour it on the spag, serve with grated cheese on top. Yummy!!!

Some of my ym friends have tried it already, they say its good. ........................ http://hubbyandwifey.blogspot.com http://jeannycdj.com http://google.com http://yahoo.com

After a year, what Am I now?

Just thinking...I've been married for a year and two months now. Let me give u my personal assessment on things that happen to me. Hmmm. I do know how to iron clothes (which I don't do when I was single). I now know how to cook steaming rice. I remember, when I and hubby were newlyweds, he was the one who cooks our rice. I usually, end up making our rice raw or mushy. Though we used a rice cooker, I still cant assess the amount of water to use but now, Im the expert on this part. Speaking of cooking, I now know how to prepare kaldereta, menudo, karekare (with mama sita's help ofcourse) and up to now Im still learning. Emotionally, cant say that Im matured, Im lucky that hubby knows how to handle cranky person like me (love u labs). Physically, sheesh, I gained weight with all the night eating we do, what do you expect, blame it on our fridge. My journey is just beginning, and don't know what's ahead, the only thing I knew is, Im not alone, Im with my man, who protects and support me in this journey :)

Tips & Trivia

Did some net surfing and here is what I found...

1.If you wash down calcium-rich food with phosphoric acid-rich soft drink, phosphorus will block calcium absorption. (Read: Cok* or P*psi...)

2. The King Green for the non-Filipino nutritionist is broccoli; the Filipino has marunggay.

3. Did you know that sili leaves contain more Vitamin B than gabi, potato and marunggay?

4.Blackstrap molasses has iron, calcium and other nutrients. All other sweeteners such as brown/white sugar, fruit sugar, honey, maple syrup and corn syrup essentially supply nothing but empty calories.

5.Do you really need those energy and nutrition bars? (Read: Ensur* or Balanc*.) Don't kid yourself. Better grab a piece of fresh fruit.

6.Avocado has the highest potassium content of all common domestic fruits. Packed with proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals, it is recognized as the world's most nutritious fruit.

7.Bananas may fortify brain cells and are high in potassium, but too much of that nutrient can give you kidney stones.

8.Consume natural foods high in vitamins A, B, C and E, with a dash of selenium and a pinch of zinc to supercharge your love machine. Specialists recommend squash, chicken, citrus fruits, egg yolks, whole grains and oysters.

9.When exercising or dealing with hot weather, eschew caffeinated and alcoholic beverages. Most coffee, chocolate, tea and soda drinks promote polyuria (excessive fluid loss) and systemic dehydration.

10.One way to reduce your intake of artery-cloggers is by choosing, based on the desired taste, between monounsaturated oils (canola, olive, peanut) and polyunsaturated oils (the popular soybean, corn, safflower). Abstain from these fats: saturated (palm-kernel oil, meat & full-fat dairy foods, etc.) and trans (partially hydrogenated oil).

11.Refrigerate cooking oil and wheat germ to inhibit rancidity.

12.Consuming whole grains may lower risk of fatal heart attack. Select a product with a "whole" or "whole grain" ingredient like whole wheat, brown rice, or oats.

13. Prevent cataracts: Wear a wide-brimmed hat outdoors to avoid the sun's ultraviolet (UV) light and use close-fitting, wrap-around sunglasses with UVA or UVB protection. Don't smoke.

14.Excessive alcohol consumption (more than 2 drinks daily for a man, more than 1 for a woman) can increase the risk of cataracts.

15.When cleaning using dangerous chemicals, shield your eyes from fumes and splash with eyewear.

16. Reduce visual and other discomforts during prolonged computer use. Help moisten and lubricate your eyes by blinking and/or yawning. Do not rest your hand on the mouse when not using it; relax hands in your lap when not entering data.

17.Invisible electromagnetic field (EMF) emissions from a computer monitor (and many household appliances) may lead to miscarriage, cancer and compromised immune system, but not yet proven. Sit at least 2 feet away from the screen and 3 feet from adjacent computers. The strongest fields are from the sides and back of a terminal.

18.Don't shake an infant. Doing so or tossing him up in the air may damage his undeveloped brain.

19.Some birth control methods proven to be ineffective are withdrawal, rhythm, intercourse during menstruation, standing up immediately after sex and douching after sex. Praying won't even prevent pregnancy.

20.Store condom in a cool, dry place to maintain quality. Wallet not recommended.

I emphasized on the word on item no. 20, I know lots of men storing their rubber jackets 5n their wallets. So from this, you guys must learn :)

It's coming...

This morning while I was on my way to work, It reminded me that its the 6th of the month and Im counting the days already (175 days before christmas) Meaning, a few more months and it the holiday season once again. Oh boy, time really fly so fast :)

TGIF

Thank God its Friday, My fave day of the week, simply because its the end of work for the week. No more waking up at 3:30am (atleast for 2 days) to prepare hubby's breakfast. He goes to work at Cavite, so he must leave home at around 4:30am for the 5:00am service bus at Cubao pick-up station. No more waking up alone in bed (since hubby left much early). I miss waking up in the morning with him by my side :( Anyways, Tomorrow, will not be a relaxing day for us, we have tons of activities to do. Well, we have to bring the car to mang johnny to fix it, then find a technician that will fix our 21" tv that don't opened anymore since last night. Whats else, we will be visiting my MIL at paranaque. Hubby terribly misses his mom and 2 little cuddly and energetic nephews. Hubby loves kids, so we really prayed that God will give us our angel soon :) Ah...I almost forgot, after office I got to do the laundry tonight. being a wifey really is a very tough and tiring job but its the most enjoying for me. Well got to go back to work. Ta-tahhh

Laughter is the best medicine

Scientists have found that laughter is a form of internal jogging that exercises the body and stimulates the release of beneficial brain neurotransmitters and hormones. Positive outlook and laughter is actually good for our health! Adults laugh approximately 15 times per day, while children laugh about 400 times a day! When we grew up, somehow we lost a few hundred laughs a day. By learning to smile and laugh again, more easily and often, we could have a profound and positive effect on our health and well being. The new science of psychoneuroimmunology is the study of how our state of mind affects our health. More than ever, scientific evidence suggests that laughter really is one of the best medicines. Being unhappy or very sad can seriously damage your health. So don't worry, be happy! There is truth in the old saying: He who laughs ...lasts! Hmmmmm....thats why, I added up the "cartoon of the day" in my template. Feel free to click the icon and have fun reading it

Our Wedding Story

Its was the 24th of May, my wedding was at around 4:30pm at United Agape Bible Church at Paranaque City. It was my long dream to have such kind of wedding, a Garden Wedding. So I was very thankful that day that it was happening. The only thing was it was raining. God..."Please stop the drizzle,” a little prayer that I was saying to HIM. The rain did stopped at around 11:00am. I was posing for my pictorial at our house. I didn't choose any hotel because, parents do wanted me to spend my remaining singlehood in my own room. By the way, I was living at Diliman, Q.C, and my wedding was at Paranaque. Why did we choose Paranaque as our wedding venue. Simply because, UABF is where we go to church together aside from that, it's a nice and beautiful place and the residing Pastor is Dante's Brother-in-law. So at around 3:00pm.Off we go to the church.... Again it rain hard...harder than the rain in the morning. I really wanted to cry but I've learned from fellow wawies that whatever glitches happen during the wedding, dont let it ruin your special day and that's what I did. I smile and didn't mind it. It wasn't traffic going to paranaque. Hmmm....I guess its a miracle from God. It is usually traffic when we travel the south.

At 4:15pm, Im at the church. wow, the church was even prettier than I think...I saw my groom, my handsome groom. Many people are waving inside my bridal car. Looking at me and smiling. I smile back but the car windows are tinted and I cant bring down the window for them to see me.

The time has come...and this is it. My father opened the car door and held my hand. I gave him a hug and I felt that my tears are bit-by-bit falling. I slowly walked down the aisle with my parents and at the other end is my groom. YES...were getting married. Dj took my fathers hand and made the mano to him , likewise to my mom. He then headed infront and the ceremony started. The ceremony was a little bit long...it was a Christian wedding. And most Christian weddings have long ceremony. But it was a solemn ceremony just what I wanted. Then Pastor A. said, "You may kiss your new bride." Ha ha ha, natawa ko dito. I asked Dj "why new, meron ka bang luma." He just smiled "ikaw lang po!" Then I gave him a kiss that sealed our union and a tight hug that is more meaningful. Anyway, the ceremony finished at around 7:00pm. By the way we started late, the other pastor (which is my uncle) who will be giving the word of God was late. And we have to wait for him. Oh well, at least he came :)

At the reception, this was the part, which is very memorable for me. At the mid part of the reception, where everyone was eating a sumptuous dinner, it rained :( So we didn't have a bouquet toss or the garter toss. I was a little upset but still the very famous word "don't let glitches drift you", so I didn't...I still smile, smile, and smile. After the reception everyone was saying that its a blessing for me and Dante, and that they had a great time. The party ended at around 10:30pm. After the wedding, the next day, we went to Baguio for our 4-day vacation...and the rest was history.
