Techie Love

Blogging indeed is becoming a phenomena. I've seen lots of my ym chatmates who started their own blog at blogger. Now, Im receiving emails informing me that some of my net friends from friendster had created a blog at friendster blog. My sister-in-law is into blogging na rin. Nahawa na rin siguro sa akin at sa ibang friends nya. I'm thinking to create a blog at friendster but on the second thought I really can't afford to have another blog. You see it's hard to update especially when Im busy at work. So this blog for me is enough and Im happy with blogger. Technology really rocks.

Last night, my family, I and Dj attended the wedding of my cousin R. Would you believed that after 3 months of meeting personally they decided to settle. Love really is unexplainable. They first met at the Internet. Yeah you read it right, they are chatmates since September of 2004. My cousin was working abroad and the girl was staying here in the Philippines. Then after some chats and seeing each other through webcam, they fell in love. The very first time they meet personally was last February 2005. It was in March when they planned to get married. After a month of wedding preparation, they exchanged vows last night. Yup, it was a short romance but I can see in their eyes that both of them are in love with one another. I've known another couple who met through the Internet. They are happily married now and have 2 wonderful babies. I do believe that it's not how you meet or how long you known each other that matters, It's how you handle the relationship filled with love, affection and respect. Mushy me...

Thinking about him...

At this moment...
I miss my brother, hope he comes home soon...

I miss the days when we were kids. Carefree and happy. Restless and young. I miss the times when we sat down in front of the TV and watching our favorite cartoons. I miss fooling around with him.

Now that were a little bit older, things have changed. He meet new friends and hangs with them often. He now has an 8-year old kid (my one and only favorite niece) and a wife who is working abroad.

Right now, my brother is facing some problems. He chooses to go in a far place and solve it by himself. I know he can do it, I know he can. But we assure him, that in case he needed us we’ll be a whisper away. Soon my dear brother, after all this difficulties, I know you'll comeback soon...

Failure do comes in ones life, God allowed it to happen because He knows we can handle it.

In Other News

Hubby went at our ninong's place at BiƱan, Laguna. His internet shop was robbed. 20 units of pc were stolen. The robber didn't bring along the monitors, thank heaven. Anyways, Ninong Y is planning to reopen his shop and start kicking. This time, he will be installing more security gadgets which he doesn't have before.

On the lighter side, when hubby went home from that short visit at Laguna, he bought a box of puto pao (puto with asado filling) and coconut macaroons. It's very nice when somebody brought you something because that person remembers you. Isn't it?

My other side

A better day is today. A new day where I can start doing what is good that I've learned from what is bad in the past. What once dark is beginning to show a ray of light. I am a much better person than yesterday. I learn more from my experiences in the past. I clearly understand that in every failure there is a way to succeed. For every pain there is a way to ease it. I am sometimes weak, but I am strong, strong in admitting my weakness to people. I cry when I have too, I smile and laugh when instances are making me happy. I am true, always I am. I fly high like a bird. Wanting to see what life has for me. I'm not sure what life has in store but there's one thing I know, God knows everything. He is the real true Great Planner. He is good all the time, and all the time God is good. Amen.

Still on a holiday mode

Im on my 4th day of vacation and it's so heavenly. Been very domesticated these past few days. Doing the laundry or washing the dishes or cleaning the toilet is so relaxing. I've been trying to do some cooking. So this lunchtime, I decided to make a pasta recipe. I'm a pasta lover. I love making pasta with meat sauce or pasta with carbonara or pasta with pesto sauce. This time, I tried preparing pasta with tuna. This is very easy to do dish. No need to check a cookbook for this recipe. So in my little kitchen, I have a pack of penne pasta, I have thyme leaves, oregano and a can of Tuna. So that's it, Im ready to make our lunch.

So what I did, I cooked the pasta first according to package then drain when cooked and set aside.

I grab some garlic and crushed it. Some onions and chopped it. Put some olive oil in the pan. Put in the garlic and onions. Let it brown a bit. Then add the drained tuna. Then sprinkle some salt and pepper and add some oregano. After a few seconds set it aside.

And then, I grab another garlic and crushed it again, I fry it in some olive oil. Brown it and then, I mix the drained penne pasta. Put some thyme leaves and add some pepper. Then mix well in low fire. Add in the tuna mixture. Then drizzle some olive oil and grated cheese. Then that's it. It's done. Very easy and very yummy.

You can add any herbs that you can find in your kitchen. Served it with garlic bread. Yummy

A week long of Sweetness

My week long vacation officially started today. Supposedly, my vacation leave should start yesterday but since there are some few more loads to finish, I reschedule my leave to 22,23 & 28. So I'll be coming back to work on Tuesday. A week long vacation here at home, no boss to call you, no meeting to attend, no paperwork to do and NO NO Overtime for a week. This is life.

By the way, let me share you guys what's been seating in my fridge. I have a pack of Oreo, a box of Cream-O and 2 bars of toblerone. All chocolates. As I've said before Im not really into sweets especially chocolates. I love Oreo but I consume a pack of it for a week or two. The Cream-O chocolate-coated cookies are husby favorite, so I bought it last Saturday at the grocery. My Officemate C gave the 2 bars of Toblerone yesterday. Thanks C. It's good thing that my 8-year-old niece is here, I gave the other bar of toblerone. So the big bar is still in my fridge and kind of thinking to share the half of it with my sister. Oh well, that is if she's not dieting.

Anybody here who want a bite of chocolates, here have mine...

Beauty in and beauty out

Last night I watched Oprah ,the episode was an interview with Stevie Wonder. Who wouldn't know this great musician, singer and a brilliant songwriter. It brings back the time when I love singing his song Overjoyed and my ever favorite isn't she lovely which Mr. Stevie composed for her daughter when she was 8 months old. Oh I also like the song Lately which was released in 1980. I was about 5 years old that time. At that early age, I already know how to appreciate his music. I still listen to his music and it always relaxes me. His music is heavenly for me. It's like drinking a cold glass of iced tea which refreshes me after finishing it.

Speaking of relaxing and refreshing, a friend of mine suggested using sugar and body oil for exfoliating. So this morning, I mixed half a cup of white sugar and pour in some oil. I mixed it until the oil covered every bit of the sugar and then, I took a shower. I lather and lather, there's nothing more refreshing than a morning shower. After I washed off, I took the sugar and oil mixture, I took some and gently massage it on my body. I can feel every bit of the sugar massaging my skin. It's so rejuvenating. After massaging it on my whole body, I again enjoy another splashes of water. It's so refreshing. The sugar removes dirt and dry dead skin while the body oil helps to moisturize our skin.

Hey maybe you knew some beauty tips or any beauty secrets, which need not to be expensive, and is readily available in our kitchen that you want to share with me so C'mon I'm listening.

Im back...

Finally... Now I have the time to blog. Its been a week or two that I haven't been here. So, what's been happening to me lately aside from a busy work week and sleepy weekends nothing really much had happen. Uh oh, I skipped work the other day. My body is so so exhausted and my I felt that my brain is malfunctioning and I do believed that I wont be that effective at work that day so I decided to have a leave, a sick leave to be precise. So today, I filed that sick leave wrote down the reason why I was away from work , hmmm...What will I write as a reason, aha...The ever famous reason, migraine, he he he. Bad me, blaming migraine for my absence and tolerating my laziness. Oh well, atleast I got to use 1 out of my 13 sick leaves.

Speaking of leaves, I'll be on a vacation leave on the 21st of this month and be coming back at work the next week after holy week. So it's a week long of bonding with husby. Im really excited and cant wait for it. Since husby has this 2am-10pm work schedule at Laguna, meaning he'll be home at quezon city at around 11:30-12 midnight. To late isn't, however, we still have time to talk and ask how the day was for us. I miss the time when we go home together, eat dinner outside or just do window shopping after work. The only good thing with this 2-10pm schedule was, I need not to wake up at 3:30am anymore to prepare his breakfast. This schedule will only last for a month, so by April, he will have another shift which is 8pm-5am....yaiks!!!!

Anyway, as I was saying, I'll be on leave on the 3rd week of March. Nah, I and husby will not going anywhere, We'll just be staying home, read a book. I borrowed Dan Browns Da Vinci Code from an officemate, or I might try those pending recipe that I gathered from friends, ofcouse its a no meat recipe timely for the Lenten season. We have a DVD of The Passion of Christ. I have watched that already but husby hasn't so Its in our viewing list this Holy Week.

Lastly, Mia and the rest of my ym chatmates decided to create a blog, all about life and love, and the everyday joys and challenges experienced by married women. So check this out

A Helping Hand

Yesterday, our office held a blood donation program with the help of the Department of Health. The project was called National Voluntary Blood Service Program (NVBSP). Ten employees including me donated 450-500cc of blood. It's my 2nd year in donating in this program and it really is fulfilling knowing that you'll be helping those patients suffering from

1.shock
2.lost 20% or more of blood in an accident
3.loss in surgery
4.leukemia
5.childbirth
6.major trauma
7.liver transplants
8.hemophilia

After donating, the people from NVBSP gave us keychains, towels and and IDs where our names and blood type is written.

The needle used in getting blood is a bit bigger, about 2-3mm diameter than that ordinary syringe used to inject or withdraw fluid in hospitals. Believe me, it doesn't hurt. It's like, an ant biting you. So Im encouraging you guys to give some and save lives.

Happy Weekdays everyone.
