Watta weekend

DJ and I watched the fantastic four over the weekend at Gateway. We chose the 10:30pm time schedule. The ticket lady told us that the 10:30 sched was a free seating, we expected that we can choose seats for best viewing. Oh well, I still bought 2 tickets. It was still early so we went at fully book muna to check out any good books. At 10:00pm, we went back at the cinema area and we were surprise to see the long line where the Fantastic four is showing. So we hurriedly fall in line too, good thing they already allowed people to get in though it was 30 minutes early. So we didn't wait that long. We manage to find 2 good seats. Well, the movie was fun though I was expecting more heroic stuff. But I enjoyed it.

After the movie, hubby got hungry, so we went at Jollibee Philcoa. After parking the car, there were these kids who run towards me and sell those sampaguita, then a kid was asking naman money. I'd rather give food than money, I thought I'll give something later na lang after eating. I walked and they keep on following me and holding my shirt that left a dirty stain so hubby told the kids to stop. Then this 4-5 year old kid who asked money early shouted and said "ayaw mo...P*****I**A mo, then step on my left foot and run away. I was really shocked. I wanted to run after him to get even but of course I didn't. So upon entering the fast food, I told the guard to get rid of that kid and hang him upside down, he he he. After our midnight snack, we went back at the parking area and there were no kids anymore. Perhaps, they went selling at the other side of the parking area. And I was right, they were there. I felt bad. Where are the freaking parents of these kids. All of them age from 3-7 years old. By this time this youngster should be soundly sleeping but they are still here at the streets doing anything to have money. I have to admit, though I was kinda annoyed for what that kid did, I pity him, I pity them. We'll I don't want to ruin our date, so I forget all about it. But surely I'll be back in that parking area...nope I won't still give money, but I'll bring a cracker or a bread to give them so that darn kid won't step on my newly polished shoes again, he he he :D

Don't Know

I wonder... what will the country's future in all the things that are happening right now. I wonder how many more protest will occur in order to have the so-called democracy. Did we ever had it in the first place?
I wonder...who among them are telling the truth. Is it they or they? Are these people for justice and peace or they are just bound by their money, power and deceitful reasons.
At this time, Im in the middle of confusion. I don't know who to believe and who to support. The only thing I know is, motherland is suffering and in pain. For we of common race, of common roots don't unite.
Now, Im hoping. Hoping that hope will come soon.

Want some?

We had this for dinner two nights ago. The hotness of the soup and the tenderness of the meat plus the dinorado steaming rice made our dinner perfect. As if we were eating in a restaurant at Tagaytay where most of the yummy bulalo soup are available (next to Batangas of course).
According to my mom, the secret of a flavorful broth is in the longest time of boiling the beef shank. Before, it took them 2 hours or more to achieve the perfect flavor and I cant wait that long. So I used...tadah

A pressure cooker. It's very useful. I can make my beef shank tender in no time. Still flavorful like the old fashion way of cooking bulalo.

So what I did here...I boiled the beef shank together with onion, garlic, peppercorn, a dash of salt and fish sauce to taste for 35-45 minutes. Start counting the minutes when the pressure cooker start making that noisy sound and when that thing up there that I don't know what it is called start dancing. Be sure that the water is enough so that it wont dries up easily. That happened to me before. I put less water in one of my cooking stint. It ended up that the water was gone quickly and burn my meat. Anyway, so after the 35-45 minutes, unlock and remove the cover of the pressure cooker but be sure you do it properly. I got an officemate who got burn because she just removes the cover without releasing the pressure inside. A tip in removing the pressure is by slowly removing that thing up there that dances to release the pressure or you can bring the cooker on the sink and let the water from the faucet cools it down. So when you've done that, it is safe to unlock the cover. Remove the scum that arise in the soup then simmer it in a low fire, add the potatoes and the corn, simmer for 5-7 minutes. Then lastly put the cabbage until it is cook. Serve hot with fish sauce, calamnsi and crushed siling labuyo. Yummeee or should I say heavenly....

(sing) If you look inside your heart...

Do superheroes exist...

As a kid, I wanted to be a superhero like wonder woman. A lady wearing those sexy hero costume flying her invisible jet. ha ha ha. My older cousin said, that, It wont come true daw, superhero things are just make believe. I find myself crying while my not so kind cousin, keep on teasing me. Oh well, those were kids stuff. When I get a little bit older, I then realized that my cousin was correct. Wonder woman is a make believe character and supeheroes are the ones watched on TV alone. Sigh.

Couple of years had passed, I forgot all about the superhero thing then one time there was this old lady walking down the street, a young guy approached her, held her hand and help her cross the street. What a gent, I told hubby...

Two nights ago while in the car, It was raining very hard, I saw this lady covering herself with a jacket. She was really getting wet when this other lady offered to share her umbrella with her. So generous of the her I said to my man.

Then the other day while I and hubby were eating at a fast food, we saw this can which has a printed picture of a kid wholooks very sick. My heart melts upon seeing the picture. I grab some money in my pocket and slide all of it in the tiny opening of the can and I said hope this helps then hubby whispered in a soft voice "it will surely do."

Then I remember again what my cousin said before...There is no such thing as a wonder woman but a supehero do exist. In our own little way of helping others.

So may I help you...

Oh I can't wait to watch the movie The Fantastic Four

A tiny part

We've cleaned our mess because someone will be checking on us. We've been trying to be organized but seems, not all are cooperating, not all believed that we will make it. Some follow rules, some do not. Some loved the change but some really cannot understand it.

Now, that the time has come for us to be seen by those people in position. They've asked our moves, our steps our ways. We've laid our plans and they studied it. After lots of talk and lots of deliberation, they've said were okay and finally gave us the crop that we've been wanting.

Hurray for the success... But it doesn't end here, it doesn't.

Friday Night Live

Two days ago, an officemate of mine prepared a Chicken recipe which he learned from Food Network. It was really yummy and I loved it. The Chicken was in white sauce with chicken liver, chicken gizzard, and veggies. I said, "this is tasty. I think this will goes well with pasta."From that, I was giddy to try my own version of that recipe for pasta.

Friday after work, I made a fast trip at the grocery, mainly to prepared all the ingredients that I need. When I all have the stuffs for my cooking, I was aware that my grocery bag will be a bit heavy...then I saw this favorite of mine...Drysdale Mango juice. I initially wanted to buy a bottle since were running out of stock in our fridge but my grocery bag is a bit heavy na. Taking a cab will help but the supermarket is just 15 pesos away from home if taken an FX. Oh well guess I got to wait till Sunday to asked hubby to have our weekly grocery... then I spotted this...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
yehey, I can have my juice in a much lighter pack and in a lesser price. I don't know if this pouch pack is new to the public,it's my first time kasi to buy and purchase it. The only thing I have to do is refill an empty cleaned bottle and put in in a fridge. So I bought two packs. Each pack is in a liter pouch pack at 50% less the price, while the same product in a bottle container has a 1.5 liter costing 90-100 pesos. Nice buy right.

After that quick trip, I went home and had everything prepared which are as follows...

Half a kilo pack of pasta. Cooked as package direction
cup of button mushroom (drained)
cup of corn kernel (drained)
a can of all-purpose cream
a can of cream of mushroom
a can of evaporated milk
cooked chicken (boiled and cut into strip. Set aside the broth)
crushed garlic, onions
salt and pepper to taste
oregano (any herbs will do)
cornstarch dissolved in a cup of water

So what I did...

Saute garlic and onion in oil. Add the cooked chicken. In a separate bowl, mix well together the cream of mushroom, all-purpose cream, milk and the chicken broth. Then pour the liquid mixture over the sauteed chicken. Simmer...simmer. Add the mushroom and corn. Drizzle with salt pepper and oregano depending on your taste. After a minute, add the dissolved cornstarch just to thicken the sauce. If it thickens, its done. You can pour the sauce on top of the pasta or mix the pasta and sauce together like what I did to make the taste consistent.

I gave a plate of pasta to my sister, and she said it was really yummy. Pede na na raw ulit akong pakasalan ni Dj. lolz

It was also a sure hit with hubby. Jeanny's Chicken mushroom pasta and a glass mango juice melt his heart away :D

Jenny or Angie...

Star. Thanks for this set of questions. This is fun.

1. Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie for Brad Pitt?

It's Jennifer Aniston for me. Im not really into this Hollywood stuff. But I can say, Pitt Aniston break up made me sad. I may not really know them in person but from what I have read on magazines, they were such an inseparable couple before. Who would ever think that they will end up as ex-couple. Now that Brad and Angelina are playing good music together, I just hope for them the best and keeping my fingers cross that they wont end up in another divorce or something.

2. How did you mend your last broken heart?

It wasn't that easy. I cried for days. But of course it's not all crying. I told myself I have to move on. It's good to have friends and a very supportive family in times like this. and it's good that Dante, a great friend (turn great hubby) was very concerned. Yep, he was the one who helped me picked up all the broken pieces. He helped me heal the wounds that no good guy left. So Im very thankful to him for coming into my life..

3. Were you ever told you look like a celebrity?

Well, when I was in my early 20s, I was told that I look like Raven Villanueva (the pa-tweetum youngstar turned sexy star). Then when I chopped my hair short, they said I was like Aiko Melendez. Until now, It's still Aiko Melendez daw. Maybe because were both mataba, hahaha!

4. What was your most senseless purchase?

How about this cookbook. It's been seating in my bookshelf for ages. I was trying to learn cooking that time (college)so I bought it. I got sick following instruction in that cookbook so I decided to learn from experience na lang. After all practice makes perfect, right!

5. Will you spank your children to discipline them?

Nah. I don't believe in this. I might not be a parent at this moment but I know, spanking wont make any good. I'll just talk with the kid and explain what he did was wrong. or I can cut his TV pleasure of make him grounded as a disciplinary move.

Well, I also believe that we as grown-ups should sight a better example to our kids, whatever attitude they have is depending on how we mold them.

Fumble...Fumble...

Awww...My left foot hurts. I fell off from bed the time I step my left foot and stand up. Then I lose control of myself. Wrenching motions happen in my left foot. A twisting that made me fell on the floor.

ouch..ouch...are the only words I can say. Good thing hubby was still home. He didn't go to work today. I told him to skipped work to make sure he will be ok na.

Anyway, upon hearing the loud fall, he helped me to get up from the floor. I was laughing while his holding me. I really can't explain why it happened. He said, "your consciousness is still sleeping pa." Maybe It was that time. I was in bed dreaming of something, which I can't hardly remember na, then the clock strikes 6am, my cellphone alarm began to play my waking up tone. It was so loud very loud, which doesn't fail to wake me. I hurriedly stand up step my left foot and then blag!!! I was on the floor na. Then hubby asked what happen and the place was filled with my loud laugh. Funny namn di ba? The only thing is, it still hurt up to this moment though I can still finely walk naman.

Hmmm...since hubby is in great shape now, he has to take care of me naman this weekend. Yebah!

Happy weekend to all!
