Books and More

I love reading.

Anything... newspaper specially the classified ads hahaha. magazines too, fashion and home magazines are what I usually buy. and most of all, I love reading books. This is what I collect. Books, books, books.

My relationship with books started when I was in high school, my aunts love mills & boon. I remember reading them and got hooked. From there, I started reading more and more.

Here are some of the books I have:

Did I told you guys I joined the Jane Austen book club that I mentioned here, I'll be starting Persuasion as the read of the month. I'm too excited to start. :)

Anyway....the books, I covered them with plastic and use a bookmark for protection. I hate it to find any folds or flaws, so when someone borrows it I always remind them the golden rule....to take good care of them but somebody did forgot my words... Learn from experience I guess. Learned that not all can borrow unless otherwise trusted. :)

Hmmm....how do you feel about this if somebody did the same thing? What will you do with the person? Would you trust that person again? Just wanted to know?

Have a great day!

Alzheimer’s Memory Walk

One commonly known disease experience by people over 65 is Alzheimer's. It is also the 6th leading cause of death in the US. One commonly recognized symptom is the impaired memory and thinking which to some, believed that it is normal to those who are under stress. As the disease progress more and more symptoms shows which makes it hard for the person to work or take part in day-to-day life.

Alzheimer's treatment and Alzheimer's care go hand in hand. There's no cure yet. But there are things that can be done to slow the progression of the disease. A team joined hand in hand to support the millions of people who are affected with this disease. Alzheimer's Memory Walk is one of the largest Movements for a cause to raise the awareness and funds for Alzheimer support. The Move needs volunteers and it would surely be of help if you’ll be one of those volunteers. So if you’re from the US, join the team and be fulfilled in helping.

It would really make a big difference, together we could make that difference. Let's walk now.

First Time

Curiousity about this book, made me bought it last week.

It was my first time to read a Bob Ong book. ABNKKBSNPLA KO (Wow, I can really read now) is a humorous story which will bring the reader to nostalgia.
That what happens to me, I could not help but laugh. I can relate to each scenario. It was so me in the story :)
But then, there was a part of the book where I almost cried. You know the feeling when you’ve done something bad that can hurt your parents. Wow….heart breaking indeed. But of course in every failure you’ll learn from it. That is what the character did. Learn from his mistakes.

Well… this book is a nice read. If you want a light story get this from the shelf. :) ........................ http://hubbyandwifey.blogspot.com http://jeannycdj.com http://google.com http://yahoo.com

Dark Chocolate lover

I am not really into chocolate eating but there’s this one chocolate that I cannot resist and that is dark chocolate. Among the dark chocolates that relatives and friends from abroad gave me there’s this one that truly fascinated me. Chocolatepath, a store that offers wide variety of dark chocolate. You could enjoy every kind that you are longing for. They have this rich, yummy chocolate that will surely satisfy your heavenly indulgence and because I am a health buff I make sure that the dark chocolate that I eat are those that are sugar free. Chocolate path also has that variety. So you could still enjoy the rich indulgence and the satisfying goodness of the full bodied cocoa bean flavor. Therefore, eating chocolates for health conscious people like me won’t be that of a problem.

Eating chocolates can be enjoyed if the chocolates we are eating are the finest product in the market. Chocolatepath is one chocolate store that is competitive in the market. To find out more hop on to their site and drool over their products.

Happy chocolaty day to all.

Cord Blood Awareness

My best friend Ris delivered her first baby a week ago. She’s so happy and excited with her little angel. She’s been telling me what her baby looks like, her wide round eyes, her red soft lips, and the nose; ah she is indeed lovely as I pictured her in my mind.

The only thing that bothers her is the idea of her baby becoming sick. She might freak out. Living alone with her baby away from home is very hard knowing that relatives and close friend aren’t physically there to help. So she considered of her baby’s future and the lifetime prospect of banking the Umbilical Cord Blood at Cryo-Cell

To make it simpler, cord blood banking is the assemblage and storage of the stem cells found in your newborn's umbilical cord.

Based on the research she did, Treating disease with Stem Cells saves thousand of lives as it cure over 70 life-threatening diseases. Such as leukemia, lymphomas and cancer. So when you bank your baby’s cord blood, you are making a choice that could potentially provide a lifesaving treatment for your child or a family member.

Cord blood or the umbilical cord blood, is the blood that remains in the umbilical cord and placenta upon giving birth. This blood was usually thrown away until in one research, it was found out that this blood is a rich source of stem cell which is now being use as a substitute for bone marrow in countless number of success transplant operation. Thus the value of cord blood saves lives of many people

I am proud with my friend Ris for this great decision. For sure her baby will appreciate it when she grows up. :)
