Silip lang po

busy…busy..busy….hay Ilang weeks na rin na I haven’t updated my blog. Please forgive me. Im so busy with work talaga. For this month, I earned 99 hours of overtime…grabeh….tao pa ba ko…hehehe. It was so damn tiring but I gained the trust of my Japanese bosses. This morning my GM jap called me and he asked if Im interested in doing Xsteel works. Wow…another skill I’ll be developing here. Im so excited with this new assignment. Anyway, in my 5 months of stay at this firm, I can say that I’ve learned a lot already and wanting to learn more. Im very thankful that I have chosen the right decision to accept this work. D hmmm….nagiging career oriented na ata ako, hehe. Actually, nag e-enjoy lang ako sa work. Iba kasi ito compared sa old work ko. In here, I can freely share my thoughts and idea. We don’t just draw here, we study a lot of info sheets or loading data. Mahirap oo, lalo na kung hindi mo ginagawa before. As I’ve told noon, my previous work was my comfort zone and this new job is my battlefield. (Exag noh) But now, I realize na hindi pala battlefield…but a place where I can find comfort. Comfort kasi I’m enjoying what Im doing…IM happy here and I do love the people around me…kahit na me mga issues about this and that…but who cares…basta ko masaya ako period. Maalala ko lang..I’m missing my home cooking..kelan kaya ulit ako makakapag prepare ng real good dish D So how was your day?

I simplified it a bit for a much easier preparation D What I did here… 1. Wash, trim and dry kangkong. 2. In a wok or skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. 3. Add chopped garlic and set aside. Then slide the chopped onion in the same pan. 4. Stir-fry for a minute or so until the onion begins to turn translucent. 5. Add the kangkong, water and soy sauce. 6. Continue to stir-fry just until the kangkong wilts, about another minute. 7. Place the kangkong in a plate and garnish with the chopped garlic pramis masarap D

"you are what you eat" meme

Tagged by Dexie. Thanks dearie and like Toni, Im posting it with pics. D Sopas. A bowl of this warm dish isn’t enough for me in one seating. With lots of pepper and crispy cabbage. This will surely make my day great D Sisig.Yum yum…this is dj’s favorite. Just imagine… top with lots of onions and pepper flakes and a squeeze of calamansi. Oh la la la. That’s why most of the the time hubby goes home early when I cook this dish. It really really works D Sinigang. Who would not love this food. The tasteful soup and the yummy meat. Perfect. A dish I always love to prepare and it never fails to please those hungry tummy D Tokwa’t baboy. Another favorite, You see I just love hot spicy food. With this dish, I put lots of pepper flakes. No matter how hot it is, I still enjoy eating it. Darn Im really getting hungry huh… Pasta. I just love pasta. One thing good with it, you could just put anything, from the plain tomato sauce to the fancy sauces. Aside from that it’s easy to prepare. I love my pasta with mushroom and green bell pepper. It just adds an extra ordinary taste to my pasta. Hmmm yummm. Pochero. The first time I tasted it, I fell in love with the taste. The combination of the tomato sauce and the sweetness of the banana saba make this dish so so good. I tried making this for the first time 2 months ago. And it was a hit with the family. They just love it. Really getting hungry, do I have to finish this D Chicken fillet. Another favorite of mine. One time, I get bored with the usual chicken cooking I’ve been doing, so I tried making something different. This chicken fillet is a very easy dish. I wrapped the chicken pieces with bacon and put a slice of red bell pepper, and then I grilled it. Tadah…something new huh. Bulalo. When we visit Tagaytay, we always make it a point to have a bowl of steaming hot bulalo soup. Ang sarap. Just imagine the meat dip in fish sauce with calamasi. So divine. Then eating the bone marrow with rice, mas masarap. Hmmm…namiss ko bigla tagaytay. Caldereta. I so love it. My mom cooks a mean caldereta which most family member requests this during family gathering. I have my own version of this caldereta, which is my potluck contribution, this coming Christmas; it’s their first time to taste my caldereta. Hope they’ll love it. Really getting hungry na D I love this dish beef and mushroom in oyster sauce because, it’ so easy to do. so tasty and it has mushroom. See I just love this cutie umbrella. Can I have a rice now, yummm…did I say Im hungry na D Now I know how it feel. Finishing this meme only makes me go nuts. Imagine, I want to eat but I can’t, it’s past 2am, it’s too late to eat. Anyway, Im tagging all those people who loves to eat and learning to cook. I know whom you are so better answer this meme na D

Few Days before

It’s been days since December started and still I just can’t feel the Christmas feeling. Up to now, I haven’t bought any single gift for anybody nor had sent any greeting card to friends. What on earth is wrong with me? My father started putting the Christmas lights just this morning and our little Christmas tree was up already since last week. The only thing that is missing is the Christmas spirit that I been hoping to have. I was thinking of playing Christmas song this weekend. Who knows, I might catch the Christmassy feeling. I’ve attended DJ Christmas party, which was held last Sunday at Araneta Coliseum. I did have fun. I got to see Jon Santos as krissy aquino. He was funny but he stayed too long on stage, which made his performance boring na. Then Iya Villana sang, wondering what happened with her and the TMG D . Toni Gonzaga, sang too. She was really good. Her voice is really powerful. Then the main part of the show was, Martin Nievera’s concert (which he sang for about 2-3 hours, I guess). It was my first time to see him in concert. And boy he was definitely good. Buti na lang sumama ko kay hubby D . Not to forget to mention the hotlegs as Martin’s dancer. Boy boy, they are flying. They were like ballet dancers, dancing in the air. I remember one of my friend mentioned before, she considered the hotlegs as the only real good dancer here in the country and I agree to that D . I was wondering if Hanagirl was one of the dancer, I wasn’t able to see their faces since we were seated beside the stage. But again okay lang D For all that, Dj got my ticket for 300 pesos only. Great huh. The show ended at past 7pm and Dj and I went malling and enjoy the rest of the night. D

Whats in my Mind lately

Dj and I was out the whole day. He skipped work and decided to come with me at mandaluyong to do things that I was assigned by him to accomplish before I went back to the office on the 16th. This month long vacation is heaven for me. Imagine, I can spend more time with hubby, I can blog more, cook more and learn more dishes and I can make my self relax without any work to worry. But on the other hand, I miss work, miss my officemates, and believe it, I miss the pressure a bit.

~~~*~~~
My guy officemate who's working at Dubai for a month already texted me this morning. This person is a very dear friend. He spends 3 working years with the company. We really went along together as a working team and he was like a younger brother to me. I was there when he was crying about his break up with his girl but Im glad they we're back in each other's arm and happily married with a cute son. I know sometimes, he can be mean to some workmate but not to me, I'm his ate kasi. I'"m missing this brutal guy already.
~~~*~~~

Last Friday, since Dj and I don't have anything to do, we went to R's (my officemate) birthday party. Oh boy...the food was really yummy. I love C's kare kare. We took pictures (sorry can't post it I promise them kasi) and we sang. I tried singing my favorite songs from Nina, MYMP and Kitchie Nadal. Then another officemate commented, "na-miss ka namin, 2 weeks na lang ha at bumalik ka na." Hay...I have to admit na miss ko din sila but my decision is final na. I will be back to submit my resignation, work for a month (an office rule for leaving employees) then that's it I'll be officially out of the work force. There's no more turning back, my husband and I made plans and accomplished some of it already so definitely no one can stop me from leaving. Anyway, I don’t want the others to be sad so I changed the topic at once and besides I dont want to talked about it anymore. I was there to enjoy and be with my closest friends :D

~~~*~~~
As I've said, Dj and I were doing things in preparation for our little business and I thank God, that everything is falling into places though there are some teeny weeny problems that we have to fix. Thank goodness for his mom and my parents who are very supportive. It's too cool to have such parents as like them, right? :D
A dish with a help
A chinese dish that I loved and wanting to prepare is the Sweet and Sour Pork. I have compiled recipes for this and promised that will try making soon. Then, I saw in a magazine that Mang Tomas (yes the ever famous liver sauce) is not only for lechon now but in some home cooking as well. They offer teriyaki, barbeque, chili and the sweet and sour sauce.
And so...I got a bottle of the sweet and sour sauce in one of our grocery trip. I tried making the dish for the first time for dinner this evening. The cooking instructions were written at the back of the bottle and it was easy as 1,2,3. But it requires fish. So I replaced the fish with pork and add some little ingredients to it.
All you'll need are...
half kilo pork ( I used kasim) cut into 1-1/2" x 1-1/2"
Half cup red bell pepper
Half cup green bell pepper
Carrots cut into cubes
small can of pineapple chunk, drained and syrup set aside
1 onion chopped
a cup of evaporated milk
one beaten egg
A bottle of Mang Tomas Sweet and Sour Sauce. You'll need more than half of the bottle
A cup of flour
I dont have a stock of this. I only have the Japanese breadcrumbs, which is used for tempura. Since the jap bread crumbs are grainy, I powderized it a bit with our grinder. Voila I got this.
Then I just mix the milk and beaten egg in a bowl. Soak the pork in the milk and egg mixture. Set aside for 15 minutes. While waiting, mix the flour (in my case the jap bread crumbs). Drizzle some salt and pepper. Then after 15 minutes, coat the pork pieces with the flour mix then deep fry until golden brown then transfer in a platter.
For the sauce, this is very very easy...stir-fry the diced bell pepper, the green and the red (well I only have the red bell pepper). Then add the chopped onions, pineapple, carrots. Then pour the Mang Tomas Sauce. Add the pineapple syrup. Simmer a bit. Then Slide in the fried pork pieces. Mix until all the meat is cover with the sauce. Then it's done. Easy isn't it and it's yummy too. I tasted it, can't wait for dinner :D
Who would ever notice that I did get some help here.
I'll hide the bottle by the way :D
