A Helping Hand

Yesterday, our office held a blood donation program with the help of the Department of Health. The project was called National Voluntary Blood Service Program (NVBSP). Ten employees including me donated 450-500cc of blood. It's my 2nd year in donating in this program and it really is fulfilling knowing that you'll be helping those patients suffering from

1.shock
2.lost 20% or more of blood in an accident
3.loss in surgery
4.leukemia
5.childbirth
6.major trauma
7.liver transplants
8.hemophilia

After donating, the people from NVBSP gave us keychains, towels and and IDs where our names and blood type is written.

The needle used in getting blood is a bit bigger, about 2-3mm diameter than that ordinary syringe used to inject or withdraw fluid in hospitals. Believe me, it doesn't hurt. It's like, an ant biting you. So Im encouraging you guys to give some and save lives.

Happy Weekdays everyone.

A change

Im not actually a chocolate lover but I've been noising hubby to give me something for the nth time this valentines day. When I do asked him to buy me something like flowers or chocolates or stuff toys, he always tells me that he'll be buying if Im not around to surprise me. And so, last 13th of this month, he gave me this box of kisses in advance because the 14th was a Monday and he might not be able to buy anything because his work is so so hectic. Anyway, my heart did melt because it was the first time for him. Geez, I said to myself that my man is becoming romantic. Hurray...

Wish...

Im a year older today and I'm very thankful to our Lord for giving me another year to enjoy and embrace life. I thank Him for another year of getting older but some says I look younger. I thank Him for all the wonderful blessings I got. God gave me a very loving parents, who nurtured me with love, my friends who are still growing in number and my husband who finally gave me chocolate last night. Oh yeah, another blessing is this job that I got though it really is so demanding.

Speaking of job, our head is so kind enough to allow me to have a birthday leave today. So Im here at home and enjoying the 24 hours of my birthday. I took a leave because, I don't want myself be a worrywart with the humungous work at the office. It's my day and I want to enjoy it. So right now, Im savoring my favorite sandwich and ice tea while listening to some of my mp3 collection. What a nice way to celebrate a birthday, a very simple and relaxing one. Later on, my ever loving sister will prepare my favorite spaghetti and mom will cook dinner for us. Wish hubby will come home much early from work. He mentioned last night that he is obliged to do some extra time for work hay. Oh well, if he can't home much early I might as well ask a dinner date with him on Saturday to pay for being late for dinner on my actual birthday, he he he.

So, as I entered a another year of adulthood, I do wish that life be cool as what I had the past years and encapsulate all the troubles in life.

Happy birhtday Wifeydj!!!

It's Valentines...

"What the world needs now
is love, sweet love
it's the only thing
that there's just too little of
What the world needs now
is love, sweet love,
no not just for some
but for everyone."

...Yeah, that is all we need, be it with our friends or family or the cute guy next door. I do remember, when I was in my teenage years, I always received roses or chocolates from my so called boyfriend during the 14th of February. My Valentines day only means dating, those fancy dinner or the dozen roses that I will receive. Geez, I don't really even know what love really means

But now, that I found my real love, who gave me a nice TV rack last valentine, instead of those fattening chocolates or those roses that will only makes me sneeze, I know how to give love in a more meaningful way. Love which is pure & modest. A love which only wants a relationship that is for keep.

And to you my labs, Happy heart's day.

Happy Valentines to all!
