Greeting!!!

Before all of us gets busy in welcoming 2009, let me all greet you with a blast!!!!!!!

Happy New Years!

Happy New Year everyone and praying for a very wonderful 2009!!!!

A new Computer for '09

The husband is thinking of getting a new desktop for our small computer business. Some of his friends suggested getting a laptop instead. But husband much preferred a desktop since it will cost less and it comes with empty bays which can be efficiently used to upgrade RAM or install a faster chipset. In addition desktop upgrade cost less than laptop. Aside from these, husband wanted to get a sleek and slim monitor that will not consume space and energy saving. That would be the perfect computer package that my husband wanted.

Therefore, the husband had been checking online for reviews that will help him out on what desktop and monitor to get. I know with the stiff competition with the business were in, getting a brand new desktop unit will attract more customers to avail the service we offer. :)

This coming 2009, my husband and I are praying for more success in our business and prosporous New Year!

My Nirvana

I love going to coffee shops, simply because I love coffee and it's the absolute place for me to read. Not that I cannot read at home, the thing is, I usually get amused with the television or the internet hahaha. My husband understands how I passion coffee. How I love it and owning my own coffee shop one day would be a bliss.....

Anyway, the other night after our first IMAX experience (it was a great experience), the husband leads me to Seattle's Best for a cup of coffee. He actually reads my mine. He knows what will pleases me. :)

Café Américano and Tiramisu - a perfet pair!

How about you, aside from your home, where is your place for solace by the way?

For my Father

My father's old cellphone was broken. So I wanted to replace it. He wanted a simple cellphone so I got this unit for him. Simple and user friendly. Last night, at the eve of Christmas, my father got this cellphone as a gift. He was so delighted. Glad I made him happy.

Oh by the way, the money I used for the purchase is from the blog advertising I've been doing. Great way to earn extra right?!

Have a wonderful Christmas day to all!!!!

Dream Vacation

Christmas is coming. It is one of the most awaited celebrations of the year. After the tiring festivity, I am looking forward for a grand vacation since I will be back to work at January 5 next year. Actually it’s our yearly tradition that the husband and I go out for days just to relax. Would it be great to be somewhere you really like. If we have extra money I really would like to spend my few days vacation on a cruise. So romantic isn’t?

Out of curiosity I googled over the internet to look for great deal cruise and I found Vacation To Go. They offers great discount cruise and they are based in Houston. Timely my friend who is about to marry next year plans to have an Australian/New Zealand cruise and Vacations To Go has a perfect package. Their ships offer year-round cruises departing from Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland. Whether you're cruising around the coasts and warm waters of Australia and New Zealand, or scheming into the fabulous South Pacific, the travel ahead of you is highlighted with above par service, ample onboard activities, and wonderful dining options. My friend would be really like it what Vacations To Go offers. I know she will grab this one.

A chat with a friend.

The other day, I was able to chat with my friend at California. It’s been a long time that we had not communicated. So I was so eager to know more things about him. He is now married with three beautiful kids and right now he is working as a law enforcer.

I was so lucky to find him online as he was canvassing stuffs at Work Boots USA. So as not to look dumb, I quickly googled Work Boots USA for me to be informed about their products. Then I found out that it’s a store who sells 5.11. I got interested with their tactical series clothing which promotes safety, accuracy, speed and performance of law enforcement, military and firefighting professionals. So that is the reason why my friend trusted this store with his tactical gears from head to foot.

Upon further browsing their site, I got informed that they have a full line dealer of the best selling tactical clothing, uniforms, outerwear, footwear, eyewear, duty knives, tactical gear, holsters and more on this site. So no wonder they are one of the fastest growing company in the US.

My friend has been loyal to Work Boots USA. As their products are durable, long lasting and not to forget that their prices are way cheaper compared to others. Because it’s the season of giving, he wanted to buy a tactical series eyewear to give as a present to his brother. He asked my opinion about the design. I looked at the eyewear he was referring and I am really amaze because it is stylish yet durable because it is armed with a hard shell and its price is so reasonable. So I told him it would be a great buy. Then I advice him to buy more stuffs atleast above 50 dollars from Work Boots so he could avail free ground shipping. That is a great deal right?

Then my friend suddenly said goodbye for he has to chat lives online with customer service. So I told him not to forget to buy me something form Work Boots USA.

So I am keeping my fingers cross.

Baked Chicken

chicken

We had this for dinner a while ago. although buying roasted or baked chicken is just as easy as 1,2,3, I opted to make my own. You see, those cooked chicken available commercially are usually salty or bland.

So to do this:

In a bowl, mix sugar, vinegar, rosemary and voo, blend well. Pour the marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; place the chicken in. Seal bag and and refrigerate chicken for a hour or two.

Now, before you bake the chicken, you have to preheat the oven for 350C

Okay..so drain the chicken. Before placing in a baking dish, rub it with the sugar, cayenne pepper, ground pepper & rosemary.

Bake for a hour and a half

You have to try this! Bon appetit!

Own and Invest (Hotel Casco Antiguo)

Hotel-view01-old

Numerous people would love to have their dream vacation. That will be the perfect timing to relax and just enjoy. My dream vacation would be somewhere in Europe or in Australia. But when I stumble upon Casco Antiguo, the best place to known Panama is a 300 year old colonial city that is being revitalized and has a rich great architecture and culture. I then fell in love with the lovely place.

Now if you want to have your vacation there, while planning everything for the trip, finding a hotel accommodation would not be a problem. You can have your own Latin Inspired Condo. I think it would also be great investments since the value of properties are getting pricey. So why not buy a suit at the Hotel Casco Antiguo. I am sure it will be a good invest since the place is situated in a historic part of Panama. So you could just imagine the beauty of the place because of its historic setting.

The Hotel Casco Antiguo has 34 rooms with complete amenities that each guest and owner will enjoy. I am sure weather it’s a vacation that you want or investing, you will surely be satisfied with what Hotel Casco Antiguo could offer. Interested? Sweet and sour pork

  1. Sorry if I made you hungry hehehe!!!!!

    You'll need:

    half kilo slice Pork loin
slightly beaten egg (I used 2)
    Flour
    Ground pepper
    Salt
    oil for frying

    For the sauce:

    Pineapple tidbits, reserved the syrup
    Tomato sauce
    brown sugar
    carrots
    onions quartered
    bell pepper
    water (about a cup)
    cornstarch dissolve in water

    How to:

Sprinkle the flour with a little salt and pepper and mix well. Dredge the pork pieces in seasoned flour, then dip it in egg and fry, making both side brown. Remove from the pan and place on a plate with tissue to absorb excess oil.

    Now to make the sauce:

Stir fry the onions, add the pineapple syrup. Stir in the brown sugar (if you find the syrup sweet, the sugar is optional). Then add the tomato sauce and water. I don't usually measure so to make it safe, put things in small amout then from there, add more depending on you taste. Simmer for a minute. Add the carrots and the pineapple tidbits (you can add bamboo shoots and green onions if you want). Let it simmer again. If it's bubbling add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce. Then throw the pork pieces. Mix and serve. :)

Easy peasy. It just like throwing everything there. lolz

Hubby as usual loved it. He though it was chicken...hahaha!

Let's eat

My all time favorite breakfast.

I always make my own beef tapa. You see, the one sold at the supermarket are too salty or too much of the fat. I had tried eating it at restaurant but it's too oily. So to fix all this up, I just made my own. :)

So for today's breakfast, we had beef tapa (love it with lots of garlic), poached egg, garlic rice and a cup of steaming coffee. The best Filipino breakfast ever...yumm!

So kain na tayo!!!

A new Hobby

Last Saturday, I found a bead shop store at SM, I was amazed with the accessories they are selling. Thus making me want to make my own. I love accessories. I usually buy mine, the last time I made my own was way back in college. I also have a friend who makes hemp bracelet for me. So you could just imagine what kind of accessories I usually wear :)

Anyway, I bought few beads and a string (sorry dont know what it's called), armed with little knowledge in accessory making that I learned from my friend, I went home eagerly.

After trying out doing knots and so, my bracelet looks like this...

What do you know, I enjoyed making it. Next week, I'll hoard more stuffs! lolz

Well I do have. This one song I really love from the 90's. It's so hip. Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of my college days, my college friends (mostly living outside the country). We love singing this before. A college friend who was a lead vocalist sang this in a party we had in the university. Gee I am missing them! :(

You're hearing the song... Hey by Fatima Rainey. Just in case you want to stop the song just click the pause button as it will play non stop. :)

Oatmeal Cookies

Aside from my husband, my father love my baked goodies particularly the cookies that I prepared the other week though he fancied a less sweet treat. So I decided to make a healthier snack. This week I baked oatmeal cookies.

The original recipe calls for a cup of sugar, I only used 1/2 cup and add 1/4 cup of maple syrup. The result was just fantastic.

Here's the recipe just in case you want to try it;

You will need:

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 large egg

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups rolled oats (not instant)

1/2 cup raisins (optional)

then

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter sugar until creamy. Add the vanilla, egg and maple syrup. Mix well

4. Stir in the dry ingredients, then the oats and raisins.

5. Drop the batter by rounded teaspoon or with a cookie scoop.

6. Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies won't look ready at 10 minutes but take out and let sit for 5 minutes in order to be chewy.

Storage: Once cool, store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.

I tasted the dough. It was really yummy. How could I resist it!

Scoop them like ice cream..yeah baby!!!

When I am baking I make sure that oven heats up to its asked temperature, so there, the oven thermometer comes in very handy!

After 12 Minutes, here are the yummy oatmeal cookies. It was chewy and not that sweet.

Have a bite!

I got a thumbs up from my father after his first bite :)

Have a happy weekend!

On Health

One day at work when I was at the pantry and filling my glass with lemonade an officemate asked me if that brand I am taking is safe. Of course I said. read the label hahaha!

People went nuts with the news about the imported milk containing melamine. I really can't blame them, I do too am careful in picking the food products I bought at the supermarket. It would be of great help to read the label first to know where it came from and the expiry date. In my case, I also read the calories I get from that product, I am a calorie freak hahaha!!!!

Without that foreign country exporting their products, our local milk producers will have more opportunities though I must admit, some of the well know products' prices are way expensive compared with other imported brands!

Okay I am kinda sleepy now, I'll hit the sack!

Everyone stay healthy and don't forget to drink your malamine free milk from a good label :)

A cool game!

As a kid, there were a lots of memories to rekindle. There were times were the siblings and I just have fun and play all day. One of our favorite things we do was playing bingo in our backyard. It was a sure fun game and it was our simple way of bonding because our parents and other relatives join too.

One day, I really don’t know what hits me; I just decided to googled bingo and found out that Disney has recently release ScreenLife Game Disney Bingo DVD game. This Disney Bingo DVD Game offers an edgy twist on our old favorite Bingo games. Disney DVD Bingo allows kids be familiarized with numbers, colors, and matching skills with their favorite Disney characters and movie clips. Match the numbers on the board to the ones given by the on-screen caller.

This game seems to be fun. You can play with your kids too. It’s a nice and cool way of bonding with relatives and friends as well. I have a five year old nephew and he loves playing games when I showed this to him online, he hurriedly asked her mom to get this game which can be bought from Amazon.com and Drugstore.com Do check it out I am sure it will be selling like pancakes!

So what are you waiting for?

With few more days left before the Big day, Digital Makeover host Zoey and Chris helped the couple set up a multimedia presentation. Isn’t that fantastic. I am sure they had a blast wedding day!
